NRA’s National Firearms Museum Features Extended Holiday Hours

FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA –-(ShootingWire.com)- The National Firearms Museum is pleased to announce extended hours just in time for the holidays. New hours of operation are now 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday through Friday and 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.

“Of special significance at Thanksgiving is the Mayflower Gun, which is just inside the entrance of the Museum,” Museum Director Jim Supica said. “This wheel lock musket, brought to America by John Alden on the Mayflower is a national treasure believed to be the only known surviving Pilgrim firearm.”

Festive holiday decorations will adorn the Museum’s thirteen galleries. More than 2,400 firearms are on display at the museum, bringing the history ofAmerica’s firearms heritage alive with dioramas and interpretive displays.

The Museum Store will be open the same extended hours. The store features a variety of NRA logo items perfect for holiday presents and stocking stuffers, along with the best selection of gun reference books to be found anywhere.

The National Firearms Museum is open every day except major holidays. Admission is always free.
