Upper receiver and barrels must be replaced with all caliber changes. None are interchangeable on uppers. Only the lower stays the same except for when you go to larger calibers (AR-10). The .50 Beowolf is twice the diameter of a .223 or 5.56 even though the length is the same. You need the 50 Beowolf upper, bolt and barrel, but can use the .223 or 5.56 lower

Do you need a different upper receiver for a 50 cal Beowulf, to install the Beowulf barrel?

BJ

Beowolf complete upper including bolt and barrel must be used, just as with any AR15 caliber conversion. You use the same lower. the Beowolf cartridge is same length but twice the diameter of a 223
