Bartonville, IL – -(AmmoLand.com)- is not to be outdone by neighboring Peoria in its support of license to carry by law-abiding citizens!

The village board voted unanimously to approve a resolution stating the community is in favor of allowing law-abiding citizens to carry concealed firearms for self-defense.

The resolution is intended to send a message to IL state legislators that Illinois citizens want a license to carry law similar to laws already passed in 48 other states.

Peoria Police Chief Supports License to Carry
IllinoisCarry subscribers may recall recent news of Peoria’s Mayor Jim Ardis proposing the idea of Peoria being a “test city” for licensed carry of concealed firearms by law abiding citizens.

The Chief of Police Steven Settingsgaard announced this past week that he also supports the right of law-abiding citizens to carry a firearm for self-defense.

In an article published in the Peoria Journal Star, the chief said he is very much in favor of license to carry and believes it would be to the benefit of Peoria and the state as a whole and would deter criminals.
