FAIRFAX, Va.—-(Ammoland.com)- Kevan Larsen of Thayne, Wyoming, won a Winchester 1300 Pump Action 12 GA Shotgun for participating in the Friends of NRA National Survey, where attendees of Friends of NRA banquets provide feedback about their experience.

Larsen’s name was drawn from the more than 600 people who submitted surveys this past year.

Implemented six years ago, the information provided in the survey allows the Friends of NRA program insight as to how staff can improve events and better cater to communities in the future. Friends of NRA banquets support community services such as firearm education, hunter safety, wildlife conservation, range improvements, youth marksmanship, and law enforcement, among others.

Friends of NRA is a grassroots fund-raising program that fosters community involvement, raises money and gives 100% of the net proceeds to qualified local, state, and national programs.  Working with the NRA’s field staff, thousands of volunteers nationwide participate in the program by organizing committees and planning events in their communities. Over the course of its history, over 12,000 events have been held which have reached over two million attendees.  Monies raised at these events go to The NRA Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

Larsen has been a Friends of NRA volunteer for years and has always felt the need to pass the torch of shooting traditions to generations to come.

“I was attracted to Friends of NRA because of the undergirding core constitutional beliefs that are so strong in me,” said Larsen.  “Year after year it was enjoyable since many local folks really care about similar things and it was so fun to work with great people on the committees.  I also feel a driving urgency to pass on these beliefs, plus the respect for conservation and the outdoors, and gun safety to upcoming generations.”
