RESTON, Va. –-(Ammoland.com)- Access Systems, Inc. (ACCESS), an information technology (IT) solutions provider headquartered in Reston, Va., announced today that it has won a five-year, $26.2 million contract to provide a variety of services and support to the U.S. Marine Corps’ Ammunition Automated Information Systems (AAIS) Program for the Program Manager for Ammunition (PM Ammo).

PM Ammo, which is an independent program manager within the Marine Corps Systems Command, awarded the contract under the General Services Administration’s Alliant Small Business Government-Wide Acquisition Contract. The work will be performed by the ACCESS AAIS Team, which includes prime contractor ACCESS and its partner, One Network Enterprises.

PM Ammo is responsible for research, development and acquisition activities and executes post-production total life cycle management support for all conventional ground ammunition required by Marine Forces to train for, and successfully conduct, expeditionary maneuver warfare.

Under the contract, the ACCESS Team will provide program management, contract data management, configuration management, quality assurance, risk management, program/project reviews, sensitive data handling procedures, and software/licenses procurement. The team will also provide source code, systems maintenance products and activities, corrective and preventive maintenance products and activities, perfective and adaptive maintenance products and activities, Tier 1 help desk, development and testing environments, and transition planning for the AAIS portfolio.

The ACCESS AAIS Team crafted an arrangement to provide technology solutions to the Department of Defense (DOD) market, integrating ACCESS’ broad Information Technology (IT) service and software development experience with One Network’s logistics and inventory management expertise. This partnership resulted in the successful delivery of a comprehensive solution satisfying PM Ammo’s needs to date. The ACCESS AAIS Team is now providing PM Ammo with a stable environment that offers a user-friendly interface tailored specifically to PM Ammo requirements. The ACCESS/One Network partnership is poised to manage, add features, and continue to maintain the existing environment.

Since April 2008, the ACCESS Team worked closely with PM Ammo to field solutions that have enabled AAIS users to manage more than $6 billion in ammunition assets, reduce error rates by more than 61 percent and extend efficiency, effectiveness and functionality to remote United States Marine Corps users. This successful recompete will allow the ACCESS AAIS Team to continue its partnership with PM Ammo supporting the AAIS portfolio.

“ACCESS is very pleased the Marine Corps selected us to continue supporting the Ammunition Automated Information Systems program and the PM Ammo mission,” said ACCESS President and CEO Julie Lee. “It’s an honor to provide support to our clients and their objectives. We value our partnerships and believe they are the foundation of our success.”

“The partnership of ACCESS and One Network successfully supported the PM Ammo AAIS for over two years, including OIS-MC and MAKE. This work continued the work One Network performed on a previous contract,” said Gary Bradt, One Network VP public sector, “and will continue to provide the essential technological capabilities to meet all AAIS requirements and support the PM Ammo mission today and in the future, offering the best value with minimal risk.”
