Let’s Close The Law Enforcement Gun Loophole

Opinion

Imagine this is what you see in the rearview mirror.
Law Enforcement Loophole

Manasquan, NJ –-(Ammoland.com)- An ICE agent went on a workplace shooting rampage in a Long Beach CA Federal Office Building last night after reportedly getting into a heated exchange with his supervisor.

The gunman was stopped only when another person with a gun, a fellow agent, drew his own weapon and shot and killed the assailant. The supervisor is currently hospitalized and is expected to survive.

Every time time there is a work place shooting, or any shooting where someone gets angry and goes on a rampage, gun control groups, their followers and their enablers in the media and various legislative bodies engage in a sick blood dancing competition to see who can be the first to issue a press release or a soundbite excoriating the presence of firearms and the “ease with which they make these horrific acts so common”.

“Firearms don’t save lives” they say. “If the attacker didn’t have a gun, he wouldn’t have been able to do what he did” they exclaim. “Only trained Law Enforcement and the Military should or need to have firearms “they caterwaul.” We must close the XYZ Loophole” they insist.

They’re right. We need to close the “Law Enforcement Loophole!”

I did a basic Google search and here are just a few examples of “trained professionals,” killing and maiming. Law Enforcement Officers from various agencies around the country, who by the way have access to fully automatic weapons and are always exempted from any proposed gun control legislation such as magazine capacity restrictions, or semi automatic rifles that gun banners have intentionally misrepresented as “assault weapons” for over twenty years.

  • Cop Goes On Shooting Rampage In Borough Park Bar
  • Policeman Goes On Shooting Rampage
  • Corrections Officer Kills 2 in Bizarre L.I. Shooting Spree: Cops
  • Franklin County deputy accused of killing ex-wife, shooting trooper

And there’s plenty more cases out there. In fact, a quick Google search reveals similar cases from all over the world of cops going on shooting rampages, in countries that have stricter gun laws then the US, laws we are incessantly told we simply must adopt so everyone will be safer, according to the gun control sycophants.

Its long past time to close the “Law Enforcement Loophole” for the so called “Only Ones”

But wait, here’s what the Assistant Director of the FBI had to say about how the rampage shooter was stopped and prevented from hurting anyone more seriously.

Steven Martinez, assistant director in charge of the FBI’s Los Angeles office said “Another agent, working nearby, intervened and fired his weapon to prevent additional rounds being fired at the victim”

Replace the word agent, with the word citizen and the same exact thing happens can happen at the next shooting rampage, that is, a lawfully armed person stopping a crime in progress. In the case of citizens people in the United States use guns to defend themselves against criminals an estimated 2,500,000 times more than 6,500 people a day, or once every 13 seconds. (GunFacts, page 19)

But according to the Brady Campaign, The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence, Mayors Against Illegal Guns and others, only cops and the military are stable enough and professionally trained enough to use a firearm to deal with an attacker.

Yeah right – Close the Law Enforcement Loophole

So we have 1000's of law abiding former military personal that have the same or better training then some that is still on active duty, so as the Brady Campaign, The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence, Mayors Against Illegal Guns about guns,we are still stable and trained to protect ourselves and our families from that criminals that want what we have. they need to get the guns from the criminals first and the police who thinks they are better than everyone else

My thoughts exactly.

I keep hearing how the vast majority in Law Imposement are "really good guys who support the second amendment", but when ever there is another call for me to be disarmed, all I hear from that arena is deafening silence.

If you can't trust them with guns off duty, why trust them with weapons on duty?

The Constitution doesn’t say anything about the right of the government to keep and bear arms.

IF the Brady Bunch wants to get guns off the street, then need to start with the cops.

Thanks Gunowner, this will be corrected accordingly, there are a plethora of examples to substitute with. Although I admit to being rather curious about the circumstances that led to the Officer being a suspect and charged in the first place.

Mr Roberts,

You may want to reconsider using the image and example of Brian Dorian as a crazed cop…..charges were dropped in his case and the actual "honeybee killer" was shot and killed in another attempted robbery

here are a couple of links regarding the story from local Chicago media….
