Charter Arms Introduces The 9Mm Rimless Revolver Pitbull

Shelton, CT., -(Ammooland.com)-  Charter Arms, manufacturer of American-made affordable and reliable revolvers for over 48 years, has added the new 9mm Rimless Revolver to their popular PITBULL series.

Since its inception in 1902 by Georg Luger, the 9mm has been the world’s most popular and widely used NATO cartridge favored by Military and LE agencies.

The 9mm Rimless Revolver PITBULL uses the same unique rimless cartridge extractor assembly system as the Charter Arms .40 cal Rimless Revolver.

A dual coil spring assembly located in the extractor allows insertion and retention of a 9mm cartridge in each chamber of the revolver’s cylinder.

After firing, the shooter can easily eject the spent cartridges for immediate reloading.

Nick Ecker, President of Charter Arms, added, “Shooting enthusiasts will appreciate owning an American-made revolver in 9mm and finding ammo is readily available and affordable. With its reduced recoil, the PITBULL is user-friendly for even the beginning shooter.”

Can anyone explain to me what “rimless” means? If it’s a stupid question, I’ll own up, but I wanted to know if it would affect the type of 9mm ammo I can use. That is if I can ever find a Pit Bull to buy in the first place.
Thanks

Andy

Contacted charter arms, they advised that the .45acp version will be released this year,2013,the reason it is taking so long is that they are backed up on orders for the guns they already manufacture, due to the market situation at this time.Would love to have a 9mm version but they are very hard to find, also want a.45acp version when they are released.Have an undercover .38 DAO,great weapon, charterarms makes guns that are better than the money that you pay for them.

Andy

I know this is the 9mm site, but is anyone interested in the .45acp version due out this year?

I have been unable to find a 9mm revolver in my area for years. I have bought and sold alot of 9mm jamamatics. Now I Can get something that will work without worrying about this or that ammo. Or the magazine falling out or bent lips on magazine or spring tension, failure to feed or failure to extract, This lever or that Lever,The best part is just pull the trigger.

Recoil: I own both a S and W 64 and a newly acquired Charter 9MM revolver. After nearly 150 rounds down range in an hours time I didn't even think about the recoil from the Charter. I felt I could have shot it all day. Much, much less recoil than the .38 special.

I wanted to know where I can buy one of your 9mm Pitbull Revolvers.

Marc

Is the recoil more or less than a 38 special?
