Charlotte, NC –-(Ammoland.com)- On January 30 2013, the U.S. Senate Judiciary committee held a hearing entitled, “What Should America Do About Gun Violence?”

As we reported on February 1, the hearing (which can be viewed here) consisted of a single panel that included NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre, Second Amendment scholar David Kopel, attorney Gayle Trotter, Baltimore County, Md. police chief James Johnson, and Mark Kelly, the husband of former Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. (Rep. Giffords made a brief opening statement to the committee before the other witnesses took their seats.)

The hearing lasted almost four hours, but all gun owners should take the time to watch. There is no better way to understand the weakness of the arguments of anti-gun politicians than to see them in action.

And, while anti-gun Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) made another of her typically emotion-laden, but ultimately barren, arguments about why government should infringe on the Second Amendment rights of the American people, she apparently was unhappy with the witnesses called for the first hearing and will hold another hearing next week, on Wednesday, Feb. 27 2013.

Feinstein is proposing a massive new gun and magazine ban and the banning of private transfers of firearms, erroneously claiming these measures would reduce crime.

This is just another one of many efforts this year in which Feinstein and other congressional anti-gun advocates will try to build a case to take away our rights.  NRA will continue to stand firm in opposition to these new laws.  NRA members should stand up now and let their elected officials know they will not sit by as they are blamed for the mayhem caused by criminals and lunatics.

Please contact your elected officials now, and respectfully urge them to protect our constitutional right to keep and bear arms.  To identify and contact your legislators in Washington, D.C., you can use the “Write Your Reps” feature at www.NRAILA.org, or you can reach your member of Congress by phone at 202-224-3121.

When I see Senator Feinstein walking around on stage. She looks like a Zombie like shes dead with just enough gas to talk and walk around.Like they bring her out of her office and warm her up and send her out to speak and go to hearings. It’s alive!!She doesn’t understand the last 1994 gun/magazine ban did nothing and it sun setted in 2004.So she wants to do a even more massive gun/magazine ban that will only punish responsible law abiding American citizens. Her proposed bill is unconstitutional and treasonous.I hope it fails in all its forms.
