Charlotte, NC --(Ammoland.com)-  In a blatant disregard for the constitutional rights of the law-abiding citizens of Colorado, a laundry list of dangerous anti-gun legislation passed yesterday in the state Senate, including:

House Bill 1224 – Bans magazines with a capacity greater than fifteen rounds.  (Passed by an 18-17 vote)

House Bill 1228 – Imposes a “gun tax” for a background check when purchasing a firearm.  (Passed by a 19-16 vote.)

House Bill 1229 – Criminalizes the private transfer of a firearm.  (Passed by a 19-16 vote.)

Since the beginning of this year, hunters, shooters and gun owners have made tens of thousands of phone calls and sent emails making their case to the elected officials in Denver that their Second Amendment rights and freedoms shall not be infringed.  Thousands of hard-working Coloradans took time away from their jobs and families, driving sometimes as much as seven hours, to show up at the state Capitol to stand in solidarity against this rights-infringing legislation.

However, despite all of this, your voice and your rights have been ignored by radical anti-gun officials who have taken their lead from New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

The outright disrespect shown towards the voters in Colorado and to the legislative process, by both Governor John Hickenlooper and those state legislators who voted for these bills, is outrageous and reprehensible.

But the fight in Denver for your rights is not over yet!

Two of the bills above, HB 1224 and HB 1229, now return to the state House for a concurrence vote on Senate amendments, giving Second Amendment supporters and sportsmen another chance to stop their passage and enactment.

We need you to contact the following state Representatives TODAY and politely urge them to vote NO on HB 1224, as it only passed in the state House by a 34-31 vote last month and stands the better chance of being defeated.

Please also being to contact Governor John Hickenlooper and encourage him to veto House Bills 1224, 1228 and 1229.  Contact Governor John Hickenlooper by email here and by phone at (303) 866-2471 or 303-866-2885.

    1. Doesn’t matter. It’s over folks. We are subjects, not citizens. DHS buys up all the ammo while civilian shelves go empty. Is everyone that blind?

    2. Garrett,do give up that easy on every damn thing ? Your mindset is just what the liberal trash is hoping for. I’m in for the long haul,..gun owners and the 2’nd Amend.ain’t going nowhere. As far as ammo,it will be back, and next time stockpile while you can,I did ! HBH.

    3. We have always loved Colorado and regarded it as a part of the “Land of the Free”, where you can enjoy all kinds of outdoor activities and scenery.
Since we live relatively near Colorado it has always been relatively easy to go there, and we still have friends there. BUT NO MORE, IF THESE GUN BILLS BECOME LAW. The only weapon we have left is a boycott. My boycott alone won’t have much effect, although every visit could result in leaving several thousand dollars behind. Multiply me by thousands and there may be some economic impact. Will this result in repeal of these noxious laws? I doubt it but we can hope.
Note to Gov. Hickenlooper: If you want to keep your citizens and constituents happy, you must veto each and every one of these bills.

    4. Well, if they don’t listen to us, why listen to them. Maybe revolution will get their attention. Taking away laws granted by our constitution is grounds for revolution. Quit shooting at paper. You will need all your ammo for a better cause.

    5. Youy Damm right Becker The only way we are going to win and turn this country around is to start the revolution and but these assholes in the ground I my go to the dirt nap but my kids will live Free from these pukes Fuck them

    6. Thousands have called, e-mailed, twitted, showed up, called, yada, yada, yada…To no avail. The Gov. is not going to do anyting but sign these bills. He is under the opinion that by signing these bills it won’t even hurt him in his re-election bid. Trying to convence these morons about gun control is like trying to teach an atheist that the Bible is true (which it is). No matter. Boycott might work, ultimately, its law suits, and vote them out and repeal. If that does not work, then I guess there will be a lot of blood in the streets when these Demonic Dems come to get our guns.

    7. Thanks for electing those Bozos! Please send Mag-Pul industries to New Mexico, we will treat them much better. Heck, just let them contact me and I’ll bring trucks and trailers and help move them.

    8. As the elected officals do not seem to understand the Constitution or the Bill of Rights…and unconstitutional bill will be ignored by the people and the ones responsible for dishonoring the Oath they took….need to be removed from office. Uncondstitutional Bills are bills we ignore…what Part of “Not to be Infringed” do they not understand? “We the People” will not be tred on.
