NEWTOWN, Conn –-(Ammoland.com)-The management and employees of three firearms manufacturers with operations in Connecticut speak out in separate television commercials that begin airing today on several cable television systems in the state, according to the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the trade association for the firearms and ammunition industry.

“The firearms industry has a long history in Connecticut and continues to have a sizeable economic presence and workforce in the Constitution State,” says Jake McGuigan, director, government relations, state affairs for NSSF.

“Despite these facts, legislation before the General Assembly that would institute an outright ban on the sale of the most popular model of semiautomatic rifle today presents the real prospect of decreasing good-paying jobs in our state.

Lawmakers need to understand that the underlying issues go deeper than whether a manufacturing exemption would be put in place. The value of our companies’ brands and national consumer acceptance of firearms made in a state that bans them within its own borders are serious business issues.”

The Commercials feature employees of Colt’s Manufacturing Company of West Hartford, O.F. Mossberg & Sons Inc. of North Haven and Stag Arms of New Britain. NSSF produced the ads and is paying for the air time.

The TV ads are now airing on cable systems serving New Britain, Bristol, Berlin, Waterbury, New London, Norwich, Meriden, Litchfield County, Willimantic, Groton, Clinton, among other areas and will be seen by viewers of the A&E, CNBC, CNN, Discovery, ESPN, Fox News, FX, History, USA and The Weather Channel cable networks. The on-line news sites CT News Junkie and Capitol Report will also carry the ads.

About NSSFThe National Shooting Sports Foundation is the trade association for the firearms industry. Its mission is to promote, protect and preserve hunting and the shooting sports. Formed in 1961, NSSF has a membership of more than 6,000 manufacturers, distributors, firearms retailers, shooting ranges, sportsmen’s organizations and publishers. CT’s Gov Malloy issued his own anti-gun proposals recently before the bi-partisan commission was given a chance to release theirs. None address the security of the schools or safety of the students. Malloy’s proposals were issued to curry favor from the BHO administration. He cares nothing about the firearms industry or the good paying jobs they represent. I’m beginning to think the only jobs politicians care about are theirs. Everyone else should be happy with un-employment insurance and welfare benefits.

yeah Colt became a turncoat traitor long ago when it stopped selling to the public and just sells to big government and law enforcement. let them go bankrupt. When Colt’s Manufacturing spun off Colt Defense in June 2003, the Defense mission was to sell rifles and carbines to law enforcement and military worldwide. “We have no rights to sell any product into the consumer market,” Greedy explained. Colt Defense … I believe all firearm manufacturers should stop selling to government and law enforcement and just sell to the public as without the support of the public consumer the firearm makers… Read more »

Excellent commercials but they do not express the truth regarding how stat lawgivers are creating an Un-Constitutional environment in the “Constitution State”.
The people are asleep in this sheepy little community state. They are allowing media and liberal politicians shuffle them along into a world where inherent freedoms are being taken away. Just like New York, New Jersey, Colorado and Washington State.
Watch the people you chose to represent you because they lie and deceive, in then end they sell you to the Elite.
