Maryland Gun Bill Days – March 5 & 6, 2013 & RALLY March 5th

Maryland –-(Ammoland.com)- We made history with the size of our Rally on February 6th, which by various estimates was between 3 and 4 thousand strong. On Friday, March 1, 2013 we made history again by participating in the longest Committee hearing in Maryland history.

We held our ground from 12:00 Noon on Friday until 0345 hrs on Saturday; a total of 15 hours and 45 minutes.

During all of this, our patriots were well mannered and respectful. The Maryland State Troopers complimented your behavior numerous times. You made us proud, well done!

By way of contrast, the anti-gun rally on the 1st was rather pathetic with approximately 200-300 persons attending; many were school children who were bussed in and left immediately after the anti-gun rally.

Governor O’Malley repeated the same lie that 85% of Marylanders support the gun ban. Vinnie DeMarco of Marylanders to Prevent Gun Violence bragged about 8,000 contacts with the Maryland General Assembly.

O’Malley and DeMarco lie, but the numbers do not:

  • On Friday, March 1, 2013, the AGC “Email your Legislators” recorded the transmission of email number One Million at approximately 8:45 AM!
  • A total of 1,339 citizens signed up to testify on the bill. The anti-gun crowd had 32 people testifying for the bill and we had 1,307 Patriots, many of whom were willing to stay until 3:45 in the morning to testify against the bill.

Our challenge now is to repeat what we have done before by having an extremely large turnout for the Rally on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Prove to all that we are a force to be reckoned with.

Out of respect and admiration for all of those who came to Annapolis, the leaders of the Maryland gun rights groups stayed until that last person testified and the hearing was adjourned. Delegate Vitale, Andi Morony, NRA-ILA representative Shannon Alford and a number of state and NRA staffers stayed as well. Everyone was physically exhausted; but spiritually we were on top of the world thanks to your efforts; both in Annapolis, and across the state by way of the email Blitz.

Schedule:

  • Rally: Tuesday, March 5th 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM @ Lawyers’ Mall
  • House Hearing @ 1:00 on Tuesday, March 5th following the Rally
  • Senate Hearing on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 @ 1:00 PM (no Rally)

Please continue to take the following actions:

Call & Email the Governor: 410-974-3901 or 1-800-811-8336 Email Governor O’Malley

Tell the Governor, and your Delegates that you oppose SB 281/HB 294 in any form. Short and to the point works best.

If you cannot join us in Annapolis, please support our efforts by making telephone calls and sending emails to the Maryland General Assembly using AGC’s “Email your Legislators” system.
