Paso Robles, CA – -(Ammoland.com)- Weatherby features “Range Certified” accuracy assurance in its Mark V rifle line with the new Accumark RC, which comes with a SUB-MOA guarantee as well as a factory-shot target signed by company President Ed Weatherby.

Mark V Accumark RC rifles are tested at Weatherby’s modern indoor range. Range technicians mount premium optics, boresight and test fire each rifle to determine the most accurate load using the Oehler Research 83 Ballistic Imaging System. After testing, the rifle is cleaned and packed with the target signed by Ed Weatherby. Each rifle sports a special RC engraved floorplate.

“Our Range Certified program now includes the Mark V Accumark, one of our most popular rifles among hunters and shooters,” Ed Weatherby commented. “The Mark V Accumark RC is certainly one of the most accurate production rifles available today.”

All RC rifles are guaranteed to shoot SUB-MOA (a three-shot group of .99-inch or less) with specified Weatherby factory or premium ammunition.

The Mark V Accumark RC offers multiple accuracy-enhancing features, including a hand-laminated raised comb Monte Carlo composite stock with matte gel coat finish and spiderweb accents. It also features a button-rifled #3 contour stainless steel fluted barrel. The barrel, which comes in 24-, 26- and 28-inch lengths depending on caliber, is free floated and topped with a recessed target crown. A Pachmayr Decelerator pad on the buttstock helps reduce felt recoil.

A CNC-machined 6061 T-6 aluminum bedding plate provides a solid, stable platform for the barreled action. The trigger is factory tuned and fully adjustable.

The Mark V Accumark RC is available in 14 calibers: .240 Wby. Mag., .270 Win., .308 Win., .30-06 Springfield, .257 Wby. Mag., .270 Wby. Mag., 7mm Rem. Mag., 7mm Wby. Mag., .300 Win. Mag., .300 Wby. Mag., .30-378 Wby. Mag., .338-378 Wby. Mag., .340 Wby. Mag. and .338 Lapua. Additional calibers and left-hand models are available through the Weatherby Custom Shop.

Manufacturer’s suggested retail price is $2,400 for all calibers except for the .30-378 Wby. Mag., .338-378 Wby. Mag and .338 Lapua, which are $2,700. For more information, contact a local Weatherby dealer, call the company at (805) 227-2600 or visit www.weatherby.com.

I think there is something to be said for using the factory Weatherby ammo. There was a time in the early 2000s that an issue existed with improper torque put on the action screws in some Mark Vs. I’ve owned 4 Mark Vs, and 5 Vanguards. The Mark Vs were (in chronological order) a Super Predator Master in 7mm-08 – would not shoot under 2 1/2 inches out of the box due to the torque issue. Did not know what the issue was until after I sold it for a huge loss. That was the first year that model debuted,… Read more »

I have read several great articles and reviews on the new Mark V Acumark 6.5 – 300 but I can’t find anyone in Houston who has one in stock. Also, does Weatherby offer it with a wood stock?

Weatherby Mark V’s are not cheap but then again, you get what you pay for.

I’m always amazed at how many folks dislike a Weatherby. Most often they have never owned one. My experience is with only two, both of which are Mark V’s. One is a 300 wby Delux that shoots .27″ with one load and 5/8″ with two more, all factory ammo. The other is a .340 Accumark that will shoot .4″ with the factory 250 gr. Spire Point and .4″ with a hand load. That Hand load will also shoot 1.5″ @ 300 yards. It’s got a fast barrel too and gets between 3040 to 3050 fps with the 250 grain factory… Read more »

I purchased two Mark V Deluxes back in the early ‘90s, one a 24” bbl .300 Wby and the other a 26” bbl .340 Wby. Both rifles were made in Japan and both shoot excellent groups on targets and game. At the time Weatherby’s were guaranteed to shoot 1-1/2” groups at 100 yards. The .300 will still shoot a 3/8” 3-shot group with factory ammo and the .340 will shoot 5/8” groups. I paid $800.00 apiece for each rifle back then and another $400.00+ for the Leupold scopes and mounts; both rifles came with high figure wood and Weatherby’s early… Read more »

With the economy doing so great im sure this will fly off the shelves. This aint no working mans rifle. I second RichardH.

Does the rifle come with a mounted scope? Was the “sub-moa” 3 shot group made with iron sights? If so, at what distance.
I can build a new rifle or refurbish a used rifle with decent scope for a lot less than $2,700 dollars and establish a sub-moa performer given a little time, range time, good ammo, and patience.

#1. No
#2. No

Who can’t find a cheaper rifle? If You are looking to save a few bucks, then You’re probably not looking at buying a Weatherby. I am proud as proud can be of my Weatherby Accumark 300 Weatherby Magnum RC. It’s accuracy is astonishing. It’s downrange performance on game is outstanding.
You can find rifles costing much, much more. You can find most rifles much cheaper. You would be hard pressed to find a more accurate off the shelf rifle than our American made Cadillac of rifles.
