EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE
Illinois –-(Ammoland.com)- Mayors Against Illegal Guns (MAIG) led by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has been caught using public resources to spread his anti-gun venom.
It seems that MAIG, a supposedly independent organization, has been using New York City money and employees to host its website on New York City computers of course.
Bloomberg also sent his “Special Counselor to the Mayor” to Nevada to lobby the Nevada Legislature. The “Special Counselor”, Christopher Kocher, tried to hide the fact that he actually works for the Mayor and was paid by the City of New York.
That obviously didn’t work. What it does do is show the lengths that this deceitful bunch will go.
Recently MAIG lost one of its Illinois members when Rockford Mayor, Larry Morrissey, quit the organization after discovering what MAIG is really all about which is destroying our Second Amendment rights. In fact Mayor Morrissey announced he intends to apply for a Concealed Carry Permit when they become available. We need more public officials like Mayor Morrissey.
In the suburbs we are watching all sorts so-called assault weapons bans being proposed. I ask all of you who live in any of these suburbs to please note those City Councilmen and Village Trustees who are proposing these ordinances and voting for them and report them to the ISRA. We need to keep track of these people.
By now most of you should have received the post card mailing that was recently sent out. As soon as you get the mailing fill out the enclosed post card and send it to the Governor right away. The time is growing near when Governor Quinn has to take some action. We want to let him know what we think his decision should be.
As you go through your day you will be meeting people who should be ISRA members. Please make every effort to recruit them. Only by having a large active and effective organization can we keep our Second Amendment rights in Illinois.
