Abilene, Texas –-(Ammoland.com)-   So there has been a lot of buzz on the web and in magazines about the new Israeli Weapon Industries (IWI US) Tavor.

The million dollar question is – Is it worth buying?

My answer: After chewing through more than 1200 rounds in a full on carbine class and some tactical hunting, yes! And there is good reason for my enthusiasm. If you are looking for a review to just confirm what you have already read about the Tavor, you are reading the wrong article.

We reached out to Fred Mastison of Force Options Training and Security to help us find out what would happen when the Tavor was put under the microscope in a carbine class and tactical hog hunt. We’re talking a private class with no distractions. This is a report of how the Tavor did in the real world. Read on to find out what happens when adrenalin, bullets and west Texas pigs get mixed up with the IWI Tavor and some hard core training!

It’s been around for half a century and has been refined into a smooth, accurate and reliable weapon and range toy. On top of that, it’s like having the coolest Legos ever made. If you don’t like the way it is, change it…

I find myself carrying my Tavor over my AR-15 more and more.. The gun fits anywhere! Why not have the same fps bull pup rifle vs a full length barreled rifle?? It’s more compact than a SBR with a 10″ barrel. To say this gun is perfect would be a lie. It’s on the heavy side, but is made up in balance. The trigger is considered awful to people that have pulled the trigger countless times on an AR15. I find the trigger pleasant, there are several aftermarket triggers for those that aren’t exclusive to Tavor training. Don’t buy one… Read more »

What were the various sights being used? I believe I noticed around 3 different ones in use. Also which of the sights were used on the tavor for the +600 yard shots?
