Arizona – -(Ammoland.com)-  Sometimes those who claim to be so superior to the rest of us show us just how much more intelligent they really are.   From the timesunion.com :

Jerome M. Hauer, Gov. Andrew Cuomo‘s director of homeland security, took out his handgun and used the laser sighting device attached to the barrel as a pointer in a presentation to a foreign delegation, according to public officials. It happened Oct. 24 in Albany at the highly secure state emergency operations center below State Police headquarters.

These officials, one of whom claimed to be an eyewitness, said that three Swedish emergency managers in the delegation were rattled when the gun’s laser tracked across one of their heads before Hauer found the map of New York, at which he wanted to point.

As a member of the connected elite, people are able to do things that members of the public would likely be arrested for.   I wonder how many rounds Mr. Hauer’s Glock holds.   It was not reported that he unloaded the pistol before using it as a laser pointer.

No one, including Hauer, has denied the episode happened. Approached by the Times Union at the Capitol after a meeting with Cuomo, Hauer was asked if he had used his gun as a pointer in a presentation. “You have bad sources,” he said, but would not take follow-up questions.

Just another example of the breakdown of the rule of law, with one for  the politically connected, and another for those who are ruled.  Perhaps we should start calling them “David Gregory” rules,  after the news/performer who brazenly broke the ban on standard capacity magazines in the District of Columbia.   The prosecutor refused to charge him, because he is a member of the elite, and was pushing for more infringements on the second amendment.

Simply irresponsible. Why is it no surprise that people who know little to anything about firearms are the ones preventing citizens from protecting themselves in the case of need?
