AIKEN, S.C. – -(Ammoland.com)- An Ohio angler recently learned that the cigar box in his garage contained fishing lures worth nearly $7,000 and a similar surprise could be awaiting outdoor enthusiasts in the Hartford/Springfield area.

Treasures & Traditions TV, a new TV series that celebrates America’s sporting heritage by discovering and appraising true pieces of outdoor Americana, is heading to the Northeast Fishing & Hunting Show February 14-15 at the Connecticut Convention Center to offer FREE appraisals on outdoor collectibles.

The new show will provide visitors to the Northeast Fishing & Hunting Show with free appraisal of their vintage items, including firearms, decoys, bows, arrows, fishing tackle, knives artwork and more.  The most interesting items will be featured on Treasures and Traditions TV, which debuts this summer on Destination America.

“Without exaggeration, there are millions of decades-old tackle boxes and related outdoor equipment in the closets, attics and cellars of veteran fishermen and hunters that are worth hundreds or even thousands of dollars,” said Bob Delfay, a Connecticut native and the show’s host.

“We are seeking unique items that may have been passed down for generations, or picked up on a garage sale for $10. Bring them to our appraisers and you’ll provide the whole story behind that piece, including its value in today’s hot collectible market.”

The show filmed its first pilot in January at the Cincinnati Hunting & Fishing Show, where the “Appraiser’s Choice,” was a cigar box purchased at an auction for $10 that turned out to contain four fishing lures, two of which were Detroit Minnow tubes and cages made in 1914 and 1915 and valued at $6,500-$7,000.

To learn more and request credentials for FREE appraisals, attendees are invited to visit www.treasuresandtraditionstv.com Each successful applicant may request up to three tickets and each ticket holder may bring up to four items for appraisal.

The show’s producers are seeking unique antique items for the television show. All individuals bringing items for appraisal must be willing to appear on TV with their item if it is selected for the show. Firearms brought to the show must be cased with a gunlock affixed.
