Georgia – -(Ammoland.com)- Within minutes of news breaking on a morning of a shooting on Tuesday April 29, 2014, at a FedEx facility in Kennesaw, Georgia, anti-gunners were already banging the drums for gun control.

While our first thoughts here at Georgia Gun Owners are to send out prayers to the victims and their families, the all-too predictable calls for gun control from gun-grabbers is nothing less than despicable.

“For anti-gun politicians, activists and their billionaire allies like Michael Bloomberg who want to use the actions of a madman to restrict our Second Amendment rights in Georgia, we have one simple message — don’t even think about it.

Any politician in this state who chooses to push gun control legislatively will be met with fierce political resistance — and exposed publicly — by the tens of thousands of members and supporters of Georgia Gun Owners around the state,” said Patrick Parsons, Georgia Gun Owners Executive Director

While details continue to emerge, one picture should remain seared in the minds of those in the media and across the country — the “Gun Free Zone” signs posted right on the front of the FedEx building.

“No criminal, thug or madman is afraid of a plastic ‘Gun Free Zone’ sign. No posted sign or law will stop someone from doing harm to another.

While we believe private property owners should be able to decide for themselves whether they allow firearms on their property, those who ban them publicly do so at the peril of their employees and their place of business.

We call on the Georgia General Assembly to eliminate all ‘Gun Free Zones‘ in Georgia, and for private businesses with anti-gun policies to eliminate them at once. How many more have to be injured or die before we let law-abiding Georgians have the right to defend themselves at all times?” said Parsons.

Georgia Gun Owners is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, single-purpose citizens’ organization dedicated to preserving and protecting the Constitutionally protected right-to-keep-and-bear-arms through an aggressive program designed to mobilize public opposition to anti-gun legislation. Georgia Gun Owners’ mailing address is 1635 Old 41 Hwy. NW, Ste. 112-202, Kennesaw, GA 30152. They can be contacted at 678-719-2348. Its web address is www.GeorgiaGunOwners.org.

@Luis –
It would be great if the Injury Lawyers would take this on.

@Inquisitor-

I don’t know the answer to your question – I think it’s left up to the courts and/or local statute.

The media doesn’t care that these signs don’t stop criminals. They love it when these signs draw criminals like flies and the media can blame you and your guns instead of the criminals. These signs are not to disarm criminals. They are an open invitation for criminals to do their thing so you can be disarmed in the end. The gun grabbers love each and every one of these incidents. Don’t think they are letting things go because nothing is being said now. Remember, this is an election year. When the ballots close in June, the ones you re-elected are… Read more »

I have always wondered if any business or property owner posts their property as “No Guns Allowed”, do they legally assume the legal responsibility and liability for protection of their employees, customers, and/or every person that is on their property? If they do, then there should be lawsuits filed by all persons killed, injured, or traumatized by violent crime on those premises!
