Madison, NC --(Ammoland.com)-Competitor/instructors of Team Remington converged on the small town of Creedmoor, North Carolina to teach the Remington Advanced High-Power Rifle Marksmanship Clinic and compete in the 2014 Eastern Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) Games and Creedmoor Cup Matches.

Team Remington took top overall honors with a total team score of 1969-76x in the four-man team championships, in which four shooters fire both slow and rapid-fire stages from ranges of 200, 300 and 600 yards, respectively.

Firing members on the winning Team Remington are as follows:

  • Mark Laramie, score: 497-20x
  • Fritz Hemplemann, score: 493-21x
  • Joe Hendricks Sr. score: 491-14x
  • Joe Hendricks, Jr. score: 488-21x
  • Ken Roxburgh-Team Coach
  • Gary Hendricks-Team Captain
  • Total team score: 1969-76x

The winning Remington team was entered in the match as Remington Arms Hendricks 75, in honor of Remington Grand Senior Competitor Gary W. Hendricks’ 75th Birthday on May 12. Hendricks is the most senior Across the Course (XTC) competitor actively competing in CMP and NRA high-power rifle competition. It is believed that he is the oldest in U.S. history.

At the Creedmoor Cup Awards Ceremony, Hendricks was awarded a custom, engraved Remington 1911-R1 Enhanced pistol in honor of this milestone by Shane Naylor, Director of Remington Shooting Sports Programs.

“Gary serves in a combined capacity as a long range and high-power XTC competitor, master re-loader and assistant coach,” said Shane Naylor. “He is amongst the sport’s most respected participants and is an invaluable asset and a true ambassador of shooting sports programs. We are honored to have Gary representing Remington Arms Company.”

In addition, Mark Laramie of Team Remington took top honors in the grueling three day Creedmoor Cup individual championships with a winning score of 2375-101x. This makes back-to-backs wins for Laramie in the CMP Games, as he bested the competition at the CMP Western Games last October in Phoenix, Arizona.

The 2014 CMP Games and the Creedmoor Cup High-Power Rifle Championships were held at Camp Butner, North Carolina on May 7 – 11, 2014.
