Kentucky – -(Ammoland.com)- Having failed to convince Congress to support its radical gun control agenda, the Obama Administration is now using the Justice Department to attack gun rights through the financial system.
In the latest example of how Obama will stop at nothing to advance his anti-gun agenda, the Justice Department is using the flimsy excuse of “fraud protection” to force financial institutions to cease providing services to gun companies.
The Justice Department is conducting something called “Operation Choke Point”, supposedly in an effort to combat credit card fraud. The operation targets businesses that have a “high risk” of fraud — whatever that means — by forcing financial companies to end their relationships with those companies.
The program was designed to crack down on online payday lenders, but – big surprise! –– Holder and his cronies are also using the program to attack law abiding gun companies.
A new report from the House Oversight Committee found that several gun companies have had their banking relationships severed as a result of this program.
Fox News quotes one of the report’s authors, Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer of Missouri: “We have documented that they are going after gun and ammunition manufacturers, gun sellers and non-deposit lenders…There is an orchestrated effort…to do away with entire industries instead of going after the bad actors.”
The National Shooting Sports Foundation says that several of its members have had their banking relationships terminated as a result of this illegal program, “simply because they are engaged in the lawful commerce of firearms.”
One of the banks participating in the program is TD Bank, which cut off business with a hunting and fishing store because of the program. (Remind me not to attend any Celtics games any time soon!)
This is a disgusting use of executive power to bypass Congress, the Constitution, and the will of the American people. But unfortunately this kind of tactic is all too common from Obama’s Justice Department.
The tyranny of the Obama Administration truly knows no bounds.

@moomoo Romeu, sounds great ! You get the ball rolling on that and I will be right there with you ! Americans are f-ing awake ! I vote for Republicans to stop this goddamn tyranny and they do nothing! They are all turning in to John McCains! I guess these cowards are concerned they will be called racists,I don’t know! But like I said, get the ball rolling and call me!!!
The gun grabbers are attacking Veterans by lying about records and then trying to take their guns. If Vets just sit and do nothing, you will loose your rights. Don’t write “Obummer,” he is behind it. Write your representatives who believe in gun rights and tell them what is going on. Many don’t know because this is being done underhanded and back door style. It doesn’t have to be a law as long as no one knows or complains.
Wake the f up and STAND YOUR GROUND AMERICA!
Stop the madness already! How much lawlessness will the American people stand?! Why isn’t the Military honoring their Oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign OR DOMESTIC?!
It’s time!
I am afraid the corruption which is evident to a minority of free thinking voters has become entrenched in every nook and cranny of our political, legal and justice systems. Subsidizing horse racing, large farmers, once free market, hell pretty much most of the country thru crony capitalism will turn us all to complacent automatons.
The liberal/socialist/communist anti-gun movement is not an anti-gun movement!
It is an anti-freedom/anti-Constitution movement and that is how we should position this battle for domestic freedom (because it is the truth)and the NRA should take the lead on this terminology.
Maybe congress should start an investigation of the ‘fraud’ that permeates this regime?
I am not surprised at the ignorance and apathy exhibited by the general populace, but why do Congress and the courts sit by idly while the president turns this country from a government of laws into a government of men? Can not these legislators and jurists comprehend what a terrible precedent is being set here as the power of the executive branch increases exponentially? This country will pay a dear price for allowing this president, any president, to govern essentially by executive decree.
