Utah – -(Ammoland.com)- The carrying of firearms without a permit is nothing new and has been occurring in Utah and other states for quite some time without the dreaded “shoot outs at the OK Corral” envisioned by the anti-self-defense lobby.

The following states allow the carrying of concealed firearms without a permit:

  • Alaska
  • Arizona
  • Arkansas
  • Oklahoma
  • Vermont
  • Wyoming

Additionally, the following states allow the carrying of concealed firearms in public without a permit, but with some restrictions:

  • Idaho
  • Montana
  • New Hampshire
  • New Mexico

All of these states, with the exception of Vermont, also have concealed firearm permits available for those who want them. Two states New Jersey and Hawaii, although they have Concealed Carry Laws on their books, they have NO effective way to carry outside the home because of the restrictive nature of their gun laws.

There are also many locations and circumstances in Utah where one can carry a concealed firearm without a permit including private residences, and legally operated vehicles.

Eileen, any law requiring a permit to purchase, own, or carry concealed or otherwise, is in and of itself illegal.

I would like to forward this page to my e-mail buddies, but not being the sharpest pencil in the box, I don’t know how to forward it, I did try.
I figure that if you e-mail it to me, I can forward it, and yes I do know how to forward e-mails.
Keep up the good work, .

Any state that requires you to have a permit is in violation of your constitutional rights PERIOD.

The last time that I look at the laws ,the commonwealth of Kentucky was a open carry state if you to to

In Oklahoma you have to have a concealed carry permit to open carry, but, citizens from permitless carry states can carry without a permit. A person from arizona can carry in OK w/o a permit, but OK citizens have to have one.Seems a little unconstitutional to me.

Not sure where the writer got his information, but in Oklahoma only open carry is allowed without a permit. Concealed-carry requires a permit.

Forget about concealed carry and go to open carry and you find even more places to carry without a permit. For example, in Louisiana you can open carry without any permits.

You can carry concealed without permit in Montana outside of cities, towns, mining, and logging camps.

Also, in Montana, concealed is defined as on your body. So if you have a firearm in a brief case, purse, pack, or buttpack, it is not considered concealed carry.
