2014 Crimson Trace’s 2014 Midnight 3-Gun Invitational Notes Top Media Members

Crimson Trace’s 2014 Midnight 3-Gun Invitational (M3GI) is now history.

Wilsonville, OR – -(Ammoland.com)- The historic competition included participation by more than 50 of America’s leading shooting industry media members.

Those media members competed in the deep darkness with firearms equipped with Crimson Trace laser sighting systems and tactical lights. Each contestant faced 10 diverse stages with pistols, rifles and shotguns in hand.

Earning recognition as the Top 2014 M3GI Media Member was Steve Gaspar, a freelance writer and contributor to Grand View Media’s AR Guns and Hunting magazine. Earning second place was Chris Cheng, an NRA News commentator. The third place winning media contestant was Nick Leghorn, a review editor for The Truth About Guns website. The first place media winner received a check for $3,000 and the second place prize was a Mossberg MMR semi-auto rifle. Third place award was a Mossberg semi-automatic shotgun. Overall, the 2014 M3GI awarded $17,500 in cash to top shooters and $200,000 in gear to entrants.

The participating media represented nearly a dozen print magazines, nine websites and blogs, and a half dozen TV shows. Many of the participating M3GI media members are active members of the Southeastern Outdoor Press Association and the Association of Great Lakes Outdoor Writers.

Attending media members also completed an industry-first 3-Gun training school taught by shooting experts Jerry Miculek, Lena Miculek, Kay Miculek and Chris Cerino. The school covered techniques and gear strategies and included range practice with firearms. The instruction session was sponsored by Crimson Trace, Mossberg and Smith & Wesson. Another special shooting range event and hands-on product demonstration was made possible by: Kimber, Crimson Trace, Mossberg, Smith &Wesson, ERGO, FLIR, Leupold, Warne Scope Mounts, Double Star, Blade-Tech, MGM Targets, Gem Tech, FNH, and Colt Competition.
