Wilsonville, OR – -(Ammoland.com)- Crimson Trace, America’s leading brand of laser sight systems and tactical lighting products for firearms, announces that the winner of the world’s premier nighttime 3-Gun competition—the Annual Crimson Trace Midnight 3-Gun Invitational (M3GI)—is SSG Daniel Horner.

Horner is a member of the US Army Marksmanship Unit and this is his third time winning first place in the popular and widely recognized M3GI competition.

Horner bested a field of more than 300 competitors and shot his way through 10 stages during the two night event. Horner also won a $10,000 first place purse because he had—and used—Crimson Trace laser sighting products on all of his firearms during the competition.  Also joining SSG Horner on the winner’s podium for M3GI 2014 were SGT Matt Sweeney (second place) and SSG Joel Turner (4th place). The soldiers were accompanied to the event by Lt. Col. Bret Tecklenburg, the US Army Marksmanship Unit Commander that’s based at Fort Benning, Georgia.

This year’s event prize package included more than $250,000 worth of firearms, gun parts, ammunition, , range gear, firearms maintenance items, optics, clothing and other gear. Smith & Wesson and Mossberg sponsored a special 3-Gun school during the opening days of the competition.

The event was captured by numerous film crews, including those from: The National Shooting Sports Foundation, the Outdoor Channel, and GunTalk TV. During the 5-day event, Gun Talk Radio also broadcast live from the competition center. More than 50 media members representing many national and regional publications and websites also participated in and reported on the competition, competitors and the courses. The unique night shooting competition was held at the Central Oregon Shooting Sports Association range in central Oregon.
