NEWTOWN, Conn --(Ammoland.com)- The first federal duck stamp went on sale-for $1-on August 22, 1934, making last Friday the 80th anniversary of this landmark conservation instrument.

Hunters and others who purchase duck stamps can take great satisfaction in knowing that 98 cents out of every dollar generated by sales goes directly to the preservation of wetland habitat in the National Wildlife Refuge System-land vital to migratory waterfowl and other animals.
