Just a Reminder: You’re All Gun Dealers Now According to the ATF! ~ VIDEO

Understanding the New Gun Dealer Rule: A Simple Breakdown

Eric Blandford, better known as Iraqveteran8888, recently discussed a big change in gun laws. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has a new rule that changes the definition of who is considered a gun dealer. This rule could affect many gun owners, and not in a good way.

What’s New with the ATF Rule?

The ATF’s rule says that now, almost anyone who sells guns aiming to make a profit can be considered a gun dealer. Before, selling guns was the main job of a dealer. But now, even selling just one gun requires a Federal Firearms License (FFL), which requires a lot of extra paperwork and hassle.

What This Means for Gun Owners

This change is tricky because if you try to sell a gun, maybe to get some extra cash or because you don’t need it anymore, you could get caught up in these new rules. Just putting an ad online or having a price tag on your gun at a show could flag you as a dealer.

The Legal and Practical Implications

From a legal standpoint, this adjustment in definition creates a precarious situation for ordinary citizens. The rule places the burden of proof on the accused, presuming them to be dealers unless they can demonstrate otherwise. In a twist of legal logic, the mere act of advertising or marketing a firearm could thrust an individual into the realm of gun dealership.

For the everyday gun owner, the implications are stark. Selling a firearm to liquidate personal assets or due to financial necessity could unexpectedly align them with regulatory scrutiny. This is not merely a bureaucratic hurdle but a profound infringement on personal freedoms and property rights.

People’s Reactions and Fighting Back

Many gun owners and groups are upset about this and think it’s too controlling. They believe this rule could lead to bigger issues like universal background checks or worse. That’s why some are planning to challenge this rule in court to try to stop it.

Eric points out that these new rules seem more about controlling gun owners than keeping people safe. He worries that simple acts like selling a gun could now open up gun owners to unnecessary government oversight. These regulations are less about public safety and more about control. By complicating the simple act of selling a personal firearm, the ATF could be paving the way for a more monitored and less free society where gun ownership is significantly tethered by governmental oversight.

Final Thoughts: Stay Alert and Involved

It’s important for gun owners to keep up with these changes and understand what they could mean for their rights. The definition of a gun dealer might sound small, but it has big implications for the Second Amendment rights. Staying informed and ready to act is crucial for keeping these rights protected.

Does this mean they are going to show up at my house when I’m sleeping and break in and assassinate me? Asking for a friend.

grewterd

No. They won’t arrest you. They will execute you and your dog.

Hence the old joke.. “we are going to kill your wife and eff your dog”
sounds about right.

ruger264

Yep.

CBW

The American Tryanny Force (ATF) wants you all in jail so it can confiscate all your guns. They hate you. The feeling is mutual. Tyranny hates freedom. Freedom hates tyranny. They must be planning to do something pretty bad to us if they work this hard to disarm us.

Oldman

I wish he would go now!! If he keeps on the way he is, we won’t get to an election. We will end up being subjects of Chairman Xi

They want the NWO and there is no way in hell they will get it if people have guns. Uncle joe says “its the New World Order and you can’t stop it” if we have our guns, we can stop some of it or all of it and their new system wont work unless and until everyone in every country and the world is totally on board or dead. I read the other day that the USA has more guns than many smaller countries. That is a major problem when wanting to enslave people. The first thing that Germany, Russia,… Read more »

Oldvet You could be right about the not wearing blue helmets which would be worse because they would blend right in with the state forces. I am concerned that obummer wanted a federal police force and we all know he is still running the country so they might get it at a moments notice either during or right after the election. Maybe. Our world is going to pieces so fast it hard not to think that allot of guesses will become fact like all those conspiracy theorists that needed mental help back then according to the demorats and we are… Read more »

The chances of anyone at the gun show “making a profit” are very unlikely. Sure they may sell the firearm for more dollars than they purchased it for, but is that really profit? It takes more dollars to purchase the same item now, than at the start of the Biden administration. The significant inflation we have experienced is very real and should be taken into account. Ponder this for a moment… The government creates inflation, a citizen sells an asset for a net increase in dollars (merely keeping up with inflation) and the government taxes the net increase as capital… Read more »

Bull, you cannot even be earnestly accused of being a dealer and selling for profit until you have earned profit (not gross proceeds, but PROFIT) exceeding the expenses of securing a FFL license, (an unconstitutional infringement soon to be abolished). Why on earth would any business set itself up as an FFL if they only sell a handful of firearms per year, the profit from which wouldn’t even cover the cost of a license? Any court that accuses a seller of collections or a piece or six to be a professional seller seeking profit will be laughed out of court.

Montana454Casull

Until the ATF hold themselves accountable for WACO , Ruby ridge and Fast and furious they are just a rogue unconstitutional agency that needs charged and convicted for thier crimes against the American people. FJB and all Democrats and the ATF .

Did somebody just dim the lights? Or was that the sudden creation of a huge “black market?”

The Crimson Pirate

Explain to me why we bother paying any attention toBS ATF rules anymore?

Ope

That’s a great question. I think some people are just afraid of the gutter trash at ATF. But the vast majority of real patriots in this country just laugh at these ridiculous rules. If I have a firearm that I want to give or sell to a family member or good friend ,I will do it just like I always have and I’m not going to get a damn FFL to do it! Just disregard and ignore these rules every time. They mean nothing!

If you recall, 2/3rds of the homebased FFL were eliminated during the Clinton rein of terror. The chances of average John Q Public obtaining a FFL to dispose of firearms is nil. The BATF would be OVERWHELMED by the applications. The Biden “Administration” has their collective heads up his ass. The only alternative is the local FFL taking firearms on consignment or facilitating a “private transfer”.

Of course they’ll be overwhelmed, that’s why they’ll go to congress next year pleading for more $$ so they can hire the additional agents required to meet the demand! If it was really about background checks the ATF would provide FREE checks for private sales.

Logician

Who gives a fig about what their “rules” may say or not say? Their “rules” are NOT laws that were written by and passed by the Congress and signed into law by any man or woman! PLUS, where is anybody’s written guarantee that they will actually get a fair trial in any court at any level? If we don’t have that guarantee, then what is the point of having a bogus trial, other than to enslave us? WHERE is our bona fide obligation to be in any part of a trial, if it’s not going to be fair for us?… Read more »
