Any Campus, USA –-(Ammoland.com)- First off, we realize we haven’t been really great at the whole communication thing. Students for Concealed Carry on Campus wants to keep the dialog open between everyone, starting now.

This organization isn’t made up of any one person or group of people. It’s people like you, our classmates, campus leaders and parents and teachers and board members and supporters combined. This spindly little group has already outpaced the big dogs in fighting for the right to self-defense, and it’s through efforts like yours.

Students for Concealed Carry on Campus has got some great things we’re working on putting together for the coming semester. First, we’re looking at pulling in some prizes and doing an e-mail drawing for a prize giveaway. This will be great incentive for those of you collecting e-mails across campus this fall, but the bonus is, you get entered too!

Your feedback and thoughts on how to improve this are hereby officially solicited.

On the Colorado front, the Board of Regents at the University of Colorado will be meeting this coming week to decide whether or not they should continue Students for Concealed Carry’s lawsuit challenging their ban on concealed carry. As you’ve already seen on the website, the numbers show that crime went down on the campuses that allowed concealed carry, and rose on campuses denying self-defense. Let’s hope CU can see the handwriting on the wall and remove their ban on self-defense.

On the national media front, look for the latest issue of the NRA’s America’s First Freedom magazine to include a cover story on the fight for self-defense on campus. This will go out to a lot of great allies in the cause, and can be a great tool for telling others about our group. The magazine hits mailboxes this week, and will be online a few weeks after that.

Also, look for SCCC’s PR Director, David Burnett, to appear on John Stossel’s Fox Business show “Stossel” this Thursday at 8pm EST. David will be up against the usual anti-defense critics, but John Stossel is always very fair and even-handed.

On the website, be on the lookout for a new report to be issued based on the FBI’s latest breakdown of crime on college campuses.

Finally, what update would be complete without a tiny pitch for money? We’re still running this group on a shoestring budget, and even a few dollars shaved off your summer job paycheck to help keep the lights on would be appreciated. You can securely donate on the website, www.concealedcampus.org, via PayPal.

Thanks for your time, and we’ll talk again soon!
