Houston, Tx –-(Ammoland.com)- It took more than a year but Texans now have a trophy to go with their Service Rifle Championship.

Named in honor of Rick Crawford, TSRA Director and longtime National Match Team member, the trophy was unveiled at the TSRA Service Rifle Championship at Camp Swift in October.

Crowned by a custom sculpture by artist Dave Venell, the trophy features a civilian service rifle competitor with AR15, scope, jacket, mat and record book.

Texas shooters gathered funds and Robert Langham, Dave Wilson and Alan Wilson, all National Match Distinguished Riflemen coordinated the effort.

“Texas shooters wanted a trophy to go with our Service Rifle Championship,” said Alan Wilson.

“We think the result is as impressive as the National Trophies we see at Camp Perry.” Dave Wilson commented, “There was never any doubt about what we wanted to call the trophy. Rick Crawford has done more for competitive shooting in Texas than anyone else. We are proud to name this trophy after him.”

Justin Utley won the 2010 Texas State Rifle Association Service Rifle Championship and will be the first name on the new Rick Crawford Trophy.
