Did You Hear What Rick Perry Said on the Second Amendment
By Dudley Brown
Colorado ––(Ammoland.com)- Nothing. He said nothing.
Rick Perry’s response to gun owners was…… silence.
Last week, Governor Perry’s deadline passed to return his National Association for Gun Rights Presidential Survey.
Over the last few weeks, tens of thousands of NAGR members and supporters phoned Governor Perry and his campaign staff urging him to return his NAGR Presidential Survey 100% in support of our Second Amendment rights.
Mr. Perry refused.
Mr. Perry refused to tell gun owners where he stands on important Second Amendment issues:
- *** The UN “Small Arms Treaty” — a global scheme currently being worked on that would gut the Second Amendment;
- *** The elimination of the ATF — the federal department responsible for smuggling weapons to Mexican drug cartels, and then attempting to cover their scandal up;
- *** Would Rick Perry veto or sign a bill to reauthorize the so-called “Assault Weapons” Ban, which banned certain full capacity magazines and many types of semiautomatic firearms?
- *** Whether or not he would sign or veto legislation to eliminate the 1993 Brady Registration Scheme.
This is more than troublesome to me.
I have seen this game played many times before when politicians refuse to openly say where they stand on gun rights.
They don’t want to go on record because they feel a need to have wiggle room to cut deals and compromise when they get into office.
And worst of all, Rick Perry appears to be the frontrunner.
Rick Perry needs to know that you don’t appreciate his stonewalling on our Second Amendment rights.
Call him today: 512-463-2000 and tell Rick Perry to come clean.
Our God-given right to defend ourselves and our families is under constant assault by Democrats AND Republicans in Washington.
The last thing you and I need is a Republican candidate for President who refuses to tell gun owners exactly where he stands on gun rights.
Please make that call just as soon as you can. Here’s the number again: 512-463-2000

P.S. Rick Perry refused to return his National Association for Gun Rights Presidential Survey. Candidates who refuse to tell gun owners where they stand have historically sold out gun owners for the sake of “compromise.”

You don't need wiggle room unless you intend to compromise (give in to someone else's desire.) Hypocritical, since his carrying & using one saved his dog from a coyote.
He lost my vote.
i appreciate the work but, like the jobs in Texas, look at our gun laws. that, in its self should tell you where Gov. Perry stands on the second ammendment.
forgot to add that i really appreciate nationalgunrights.org for making this known to the public.
Rick Perry could have, and still can call for a special session of the texas legislatore so that they would be forced to let us OC handguns and until he does he is as antigun as sara bradie!
Rick Perry has already made his views known on the 2nd Amendment, both by action and policy. I don't care if he answers NAGRs questionare. Why NAGR would continue to castigate someone for not answering their questionare is beyond me. Go ahead and vote for Obama, there will be only two choices, sorry.
So why is NAGR nagging us about Rick Perry when other candidates have not returned theirs either? According to NAGR's own website Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich, John Huntsman, Tim Pawlenty, and Mitt Romney have not returned their either. In addition to that they claim Rick Santorum is Pro-Gun after they gave him a second chance. I personally find it funny that NAGR is attempting to make themselves seem relevant by riding on Rick Perry's popularity.
Wait, wait, wait! Not returning a survey DOES NOT mean Gov. Perry is weak on defense of 2nd ammendment rights. I suggest that until the truth is known, NO ONE should start screaming that the sky is falling.
I'm very disappointed to hear this. I'm a high school teacher who started "gun rights in america.com" because I was concerned about how textbooks, both American History and American Government, are portraying the Second Amendment and Gun Rights. From my limited experience it is negative. Knowing how much we have to fight the federal government for our gun rights, I can't imagine voting for someone who refuses to clarify his stand on a gun rights survey when he knows that gun owners are a large, influential voting bloc.
