Smith & Wesson’s Lentz Takes Classic Div. Title at East Coast Regional Revolver Championship
LOS OSOS, Calif. –-(Ammoland.com)- Josh Lentz, the Team Smith & Wesson shooter from Northampton, Pa., finished second overall and took the Classic division title at the International Confederation of Revolver Enthusiasts’ (ICORE) Smith & Wesson East Coast Regional Revolver Championship this past weekend at the Ontelaunee Rod & Gun Club in New Tripoli, Pa.
Lentz, who led the match from start to finish winning all eight stages, finished 85.21 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor, Ken Ortbach of Hellertown, Pa., with a final time of 157.54 seconds.
“Josh is the dominant shooter in ICORE’s Classic division and is simply amazing to watch in competition. The speed and accuracy with which he shoots makes him hard to beat and an odds on favorite to win any match he enters,” said Ron Joslin of ICORE.
Ortbach finished second in the division with a final time of 242.75 seconds with Mike Utzig in third with 287.12.
Rounding out the top five were Blair Cooper of Paw Paw, Mich. and Jim Hinton of Newfoundland, N.J. taking fourth and fifth with times of 324.27 and 354.91 seconds respectively.
The Smith & Wesson East Coast Regional Revolver Championship was the fourth of seven events in the 2011 ICORE Regional Series presented by Smith & Wesson. The next event is the Smith & Wesson Southern Regional Revolver Championship on October 7-9 in Byram, Miss. at the Magnolia Rifle & Pistol Club range.
