Connecticut –-(Ammoland.com)- The Connecticut Citizens Defense League (The state’s largest grass roots gun rights group) is speaking out in opposition to the E-Cert package that could be voted on as early as this Wednesday (April 3rd 2013).
CCDL President Scott Wilson addressed this matter with the following statement:
“There is nothing that occurred in Sandy Hook that at this point in time would constitute a valid use of e-certification maneuvers. Besides the families and the victims, Sandy Hook was a tragedy felt throughout the world. We in Connecticut still feel the pain every day, and it is sad that we who believe in our constitutional rights are cast off as less than empathetic”.
“The actions of legislators and of those that will sacrifice liberty for false protections will be a dark page of a very dark chapter in our states’ history. The fact that there have been no hearings is extremely troublesome to many”.
CCDL Is once again appealing to legislators to use logic and reasoning by addressing mental health, and better school security and holding proper public hearings on any language put forth.
About the CCDL:
The Connecticut Citizens Defense League was formed in 2009 by a small group of concerned citizens as a non-partisan organization to advocate second amendment rights in the state of Connecticut. Since their founding, the group has grown to over 4,700+ members from all walks of life. Thanks to this large support base across the state the CCDL has become a fixture of the capitol, well recognized by all committees that regularly see firearms related bills as well as the state Board of Firearms Permit Examiners. As the go-to organization in the state they are consulted regularly by lawmakers who have questions and concerns about pending legislation or existing laws.
