White House Hints Gun Owners Will Approve of Next SCOTUS Nominee

USA – -(Ammoland.com)- With me, the old adage “if you love what you do, you never work a day in your life,” rings true.

Last Sunday night, the Armed American Radio “Monstercast” show heard in hundreds of cities across the country is evidence of why I feel the way I do. Alan Gottlieb, the founder of The Second Amendment Foundation and frequent guest on the program, was the sole visitor in hour one, as he often is. Like other regular appearances on Armed American Radio and Gun Talk with Tom Gresham, as well as other media outlets, Alan can be counted on to educate those of us who support the right to bear arms like no other.

Last night though, Mr. Gottlieb went beyond his usual wit, wisdom, and brilliance that we’ve come to expect.

First, let me explain a little bit about hosting a radio program. A ton of upfront work goes into the show, hours before it airs in a ritual we refer to as “show prep.” This is true for any live on-air national radio broadcast, podcast, television program, etc. I had a line of questions prepared for Alan long before the microphone went live and as you can imagine with the Supreme Court nominee announcement looming the next day (today), I wanted Alan to educate the listening audience on what type of justice we needed as gun rights supporters. As I was questioning Mr. Gottlieb about the various ideas of constitutional interpretation, i.e., Originalist, and/or Strict Constructionist, etc., Alan took the conversation in a completely unexpected direction.

In what I can describe only as a remarkable and stunning shift in the direction of the conversation, Gottlieb notified my national audience that the White House had been in touch with him to notify him he would be satisfied with the nominee.

While discussing the historic nature of the selection, Alan said, “I’ll be candid. I’ve been in communication with people in the White House who have asked me, in particular, telling me not who is going to get the nomination but just telling me that…

“Alan, you’re gonna like it, and please you’ve gotta do everything you can tomorrow as soon as it’s announced to hit the airwaves because the other side is planning on sandbagging, going after, and destroying whoever we nominate. You’ve gotta be there as a counterbalance, and I promised the White House that I would.”

He went on to say he was “taking them at their word on it and I’m ready to pull out all the stops. Of course, if I’m disappointed, I’m not gonna do it, but the bottom line is I have no reason to believe I’m going to be disappointed.”

There went the rest of my “show prep” right out the window. Mr. Gottlieb had just notified my audience that the White House informed him he would be satisfied with the president’s selection to replace Justice Kennedy. What those groundbreaking statements meant to the Armed American Radio listener, which in turn means to all law-abiding gun owners who are concerned about losing our right to bear arms is that we all, through Alan Gottlieb, have been assured that the White House, in particular, President Donald J. Trump has our back. When it comes to securing our freedoms for generations to come, President Trump is fulfilling his promise to protect the Second Amendment.

“Together, we must send the president and Senate a clear message: This country cannot afford a justice who yokes the Supreme Court to the gun lobby’s extreme agenda.”
