Does anyone know if the primer is sealed? I’ve got an email into Sig to find out. If the primer isn’t sealed then I wouldn’t qualify this as military grade ammo.
Woo Hoo! Sig is offering the HP ammo (the only thing I would carry on a regular basis, in 20 rd boxes. Can’t wait to go out and buy one,……….. NOT!
Was the all caps really necessary? It just makes your comment sound like you’re shouting at me the whole time.
AMMO NOT FAST ENOUGH FOR NATO GRADE 124 GR FMJ AMMO…1250 FPS IS STANDARD VELOCITY IN A 5 INCH BBL. SUCH AS IN A WALTHER P-38 OR BARRETA M-9, BOTH MILSPEC HANDGUNS WHICH SHOOT NATO AMMO. I KNOW BECAUSE I’VE CHRONO’D REAL 9MM ISSUE NATO AMMO AND USED IT IN MY MP-5 AND ISSUED WALTHER P-7.(SPECOPS).
Did you test the 1250 fps ammo you use in a sig p320 m17?
Did you run your 1250 fps ammo out of a sig p320 m17?
They posted “1,198 FPS” basically 1200 FPS. NATO standard is “1250 FPS From a 5″ BBL. the m17 is a hair over 4 1/2” BBL. Plus the fact that the standard deviation is likely 12-20 FPS, the remaining 30 FPS is negligible, I KNOW THIS BECAUSE, I KNOW WHERE THE CAPS LOCK KEY IS!!! And I have a plenty of experience loading and testing ammunition both professionally and privately, while also being a U.S Veteran (10 yrs active duty) and small arms marksman ( I shoot DA gunz with extreme accuracy and get ribbons for it)
Thank you for the additional info on the ammo, it sounds like a reasonable choice for a carry pistol given your information. I have always liked Sig-Sauer pistols and look forward to trying this stuff!
Thank you for the information. The reason I asked my question is the Sig has a 4.7″ barrel, which you pointed out. I agree totally with your comment. I have a P320 compact with the included Sig red dot sight. I carry a Sig P365 loaded with Sig 124 grn HPs, 13 rounds and cross draw holster. Invisible and potent.
