They’re Baaa’aack: Moms Demand Action Protest Georgia Constitutional Carry

Moms Demand Action Protest Georgia Constitutional Carry

USA – -(AmmoLand.com)- It’s that time of year we begin to see red at the statehouse. By orange, I mean red T-shirt clad, loud-mouth and woefully misinformed men and (mostly) women representing the gun-hating group of Moms Demand Action masquerading as a “gun safety” group (whatever that means to them?). Like you, I’m still searching for the “gun safety” class they teach or even an instructor, for that matter, who has taught a Moms Demand Action “gun safety” course. Note to self, there isn’t one, anywhere, so you might as well stop looking.

Nonetheless, when I say it’s that time of year, I am specifically referring to the screechers showing up at the statehouse to demand implementation of their version of “common sense,” “gun safety” measures. As usual, they were out in Georgia, right on cue, about 300 of them according to a Fox 5 Atlanta story (I have no reason to doubt it), on Wed, Feb. 19th doing what they do including holding signs, screeching, chanting and otherwise trying to intimidate lawmakers in a red state to change the gun laws to reflect their freedom-hating ways.

To be fair, this is America and those in attendance have every right to stand on the steps of the capitol building and do what they do, as loud as they want. I love this country precisely for our fundamental rights which include our right to free speech and assembly, as they demonstrated, but for the life of me, I have trouble with the disconnect of a group of Americans, exercising one fundamental right for the sole purpose of limiting another. Color me funny, but that has always baffled me. Exercising your freedom to become less free? Weird, but I digress.

As the Fox 5 camera panned to a young woman appearing to be in her early 30’s, she looked into the lens and said, “Today I’m here to advocate for gun safety.” Of course, the reporter on scene at the groups annual “Advocacy Day” screech fest didn’t ask her to elaborate; however, it didn’t take long to figure it out. The Bloomberg funded rights haters were there to oppose GA HB 2, the constitutional or permitless carry bill (If tyou live in GA please contact your reps and tell them to support this bill) that is awaiting a hearing in the House Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee, and supporting a bill expanding domestic violence legislation that adds more people to a secret list of those who can have their guns confiscated. (It’s never enough for this group).

As it stands today and as you already know regardless of where you live, if you have a permit to carry a gun, you paid a fee (tax) for that right to carry. Here in Georgia, it’s about $77.00. The move to constitutional carry, as in other states, is gaining momentum here and while there are some behind the scenes politics in play, we have a new governor, Brian Kemp who ran on his pro-rights agenda.

In other words, he’ll sign the bill, has pledged to do so, and the gun haters know it. So there you have it. The young woman apparently believes that “gun safety” means stopping me from carrying a firearm without government permission or at the very least, making it more difficult and expensive for me to do so.

So. There I sat, reading, watching, and talking about a group of fellow Americans who willfully, and ignorantly, use their first amendment rights for the sole purpose of taking away our second amendment rights. They do so as a well funded, highly organized and well-oiled machine of paid pied pipers, marching to the flute played by multi-billionaire gun grabbers. In the process, they appear unaware of the fact they are advocating for the loss of not only my freedoms but their own as well.

That got me thinking: I wonder how they would feel if a well-funded, well-oiled group of other Americans used the second amendment to come after their first amendment?

Oh, right about now I can hear the socialists accusing me of threatening the gun-haters. Nope, as usual, they would be dead wrong. The point I’m making is law-abiding Americans don’t use their gun rights to attack other Americans, thereby proving once again that the whole lot of them are after us, not the bad guys. After all, if 100 million Americans with guns were a problem, wouldn’t they already know it?

Their political endgame being complete civilian disarmament, not “gun safety,” you can count on them continuing to use one fundamental right to destroy another.

These girls are like puppets who strings are being pulled by others with not-so-hidden agendas. As long as they get to play dress up and others are paying for them to them to have “fun” they see nothing wrong with it. Yet there are thousands of gun laws in the U.S. and they couldn’t name ten of them if their lives depended on it. They expect to protest and someone will magically wiggle their nose and come up with the “perfect” law that they can take credit for! This would “prove” they are good moms even if they know laws… Read more »

Matt in Oklahoma

They are here in Oklahoma protesting our constitutional carry as well under the guise of being a religious group.
The media has embraced them as such as they are using prayer to protest. They are handing out shirts to men to bump up their numbers to like 8 or 9.
I don’t think that out of state groups should be allowed to protest on state law. This is my home so go back to yours and continue to destroy it.

The Green Watch Dog

From what source did you hear Matt that it is a group from out of state and not affiliated with a religious organization? It is important that we all share factual and unbiased information.

Here’s all the factual and unbiased information you need GWD.

Second Amendment
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Come on Get Out, Is it really necessary to go off the deep end and fib?
The ones I saw on the local news channels live here in Oklahoma.
They did not grow out of the ground and materialize, or fly into Will Rogers World Airport to protest. Again and again, I find fake comments flourishing.

Wild Bill

@GO, The grf seems to be begging for responses. Starve him out!

Drop all of them out on a dark Atlanta street in the inner city after dark. Let’s see how many of them still have the same view after spending the night there.

Missouri Born

I wonder how many of those moms that are against guns are for abortions.

Heed the Call-up

There were 300 of these people there? Yet the picture shows a total of 28. I wonder if that sign the man is holding that shows “10” is the multiplier used by the news reporter to declare how many there were there. I recall seeing that group at the Virginia Capitol last year. There were *three* of them along with a handler and a camera man. It was amusing to watch the camera man try to find an angle where they weren’t surrounded by a sea of people wearing red, circular stickers with bold black letters stating “Guns Save Lives”.… Read more »

Patriot guy

These women are the same ones a 100 years ago who demanded that the government BAN all alcohol! Then everything would be just preachy and wonderful. What they really got was 1000’s dying from homemade booze, booze running gangs, Al Capone, the mafia and underground bars serving liquor to anyone including children. When that happened the women decided to repeal probation. Women just cannot make up their minds. There was a reason why women weren’t allowed to vote. Now you’ve got a group of hysterical women wanting to ban guns. What do they want to protect their homes with? A… Read more »

Wild Bill

@NRA Ben, That is an excellent example of someone in a cozy, safe, finite, little world substituting their limited judgement for everyone else’s judgment. And in this instance … getting paid to do it.

The biggest question to be asked is: WHO is paying for the “directors” of this organization”? ‘g.soros’ or his sycophant communistic millionaires?

Let’s get some anti 2A, defamatory, libelous, slandering, inflammatory speech, discriminatory, and hate, laws passed against those who would seek to take our Civil Liberties away from us.. under false pretenses…

Disorderly Conduct… laws against filing false reports. How about inciting riots.

Carry without a license may soon be a reality in Oklahoma. Yes, the right to object is one of our rights in this great country. Many here with the Baptist faith oppose open carry and we all should listen, understand, and respect their beliefs. Those who do choose to carry are required to be responsible. All should carefully know their weapons, and be knowledgeable in how to defend themselves if need be.

JoeUSooner

All citizens are “required” to be responsible regarding 1) obedience to ALL constitutionally-valid laws, and 2) the exercise of ALL Constitutionally-protected civil rights – and rights do indeed carry concomitant duties.

These “Moms” cuckoo clocks somehow demand that one particular right [keep/bear arms] must be singled out – to be treated differently from all other rights. Why?

What could possibly justify that insanity?

BIOOYA

Get Out

Why should we all listen, understand, and respect Baptists for their beliefs based on their faith opposing open carry? Do you speak for all of the Baptist faith too? Do they all listen, understand, and respect my decision and right to carry?

HB 2 is not the bill we want to pass in Georgia at this time. It does nothing about removing current off-limit locations to license holders from OCGA 16-11-127 or adding license holders to the exempted classes in OCGA 16-11-130. Those actions are far more important than this bill which is being pushed by a group that has never had anything they proposed passed into law.
