Good point however in my opinion Savage does not stand behind their firearms. a 1 year warranty? That’s a joke considering I have many firearms that have never been fired and are well over a year old. I took out my Savage 12 F/TR purchased in January 2017 for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Cleaned all the oil out of the barrel from storage and looked at it with a bore-scope and couldn’t believe how bad the barrel looked. Cold Hammer Forged is the way to go if done right. Savage hasn’t gotten that down yet.
I bought a Savage 10FP in 308 many years ago and the bore was rough so I contacted Savage and they paid for it to be shipped back and in less than two weeks I had it back in my hands with a new barrel. That barrel had over 7000 counted rounds put through it when I took it off and put a 358 Winchester chambered barrel on it.
