U.S.A. –-(Ammoland.com)- Cam Edwards, the former host of “Cam & Co.” on NRATV, is the new editor of the website Bearing Arms.
Edwards grew up in a gun-free home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. His mother was a Democrat. When he was in his mid-20s, Edwards became a husband and father. Edwards purchased a gun to protect his family. Since that time, he has become an avid Second Amendment advocate.
The former morning drive-time radio DJ hosted “Cam & Co” on NRATV. The three-hour show focused especially on the Second Amendment. Edwards informed his listeners of the latest breaking news and gave his opinions on freedom centric issues.
Edwards is known for his calm and measured delivery of the latest news that affects the gun world. He has interviewed countless politicians, journalist, and members of the U.S. Congress on his national radio show. He brings these same skills to the Bearing Arms website as their latest editor.
“As the new editor of BearingArms.com I want to expose those attempts at delegitimizing our constitutional rights and the Americans who exercise them, but that’s only half the battle,” Edwards said in a statement posted to Bearing Arms. “We need to tell the stories of the countless men and women who are fighting to not just keep our rights secure, but to make them stronger than ever.”
Last month the NRA shut down production on all live programming on NRATV. The NRA’s long-time marketing partner, Ackerman McQueen, produced all programming for the media site. The two entities ended their three-decade relationship in a very public and nasty split.
The NRA is suing Ackerman McQueen for breach of contract due to allegedly not handing over data analytics when the gun-rights group requested them. Edwards, like all the NRATV hosts, were employees of Ackerman McQueen and not the NRA. Cam & Co was collateral damage in the fight between the two companies.
“I’ve had the privilege of covering the 2nd Amendment on a daily basis for fifteen years now, both behind a microphone and in print, and ‘I’m incredibly excited to be able to continue that mission here at BearingArms,” Edwards said in a statement on Bearing Arms. “I’ve been a friend of Bob Owens and Jenn Jacques, the previous editors here, and consider it an honor to occupy the same position they’ve both held.”
Bearing Arms is part of Townhall Media which is owned by Salem Media Group. The site concentrates on the Second Amendment and firearms news. The site tackles issues such as gun control, self-defense, and firearms news.
Bearing Arms is the sister site to Townhall, Twitchy, Hot Air, and RedState. All these sites have a conservative lean to their reporting.
The Heritage Foundation founded Townhall in 1995 as one of the first conservative internet websites on the World Wide Web. In 2005 Townhall Split from the foundation. In May of 2006, Salem Communications (now Salem Media Group) acquired Townhall.com and relaunched the site under the Townhall Media banner.
Edwards thanked Salem Media Group and said he was excited about the opportunity. He also said he is ready to get behind the mic soon.

cue the haters in 5,4 3……..
Day’m! You were only off by 8 minutes! Although, maybe Vanns40 has a point?
@Link, You are going to use baby talk in front of the adults. Really?
I had an extensive “back and forth” with Edwards on Twitter where I attempted, with absolutely no success, to get him to say he was in favor of repealing all gun control laws. The most I could get out of him was that he’s in favor of repeal of NFA. Everything else he danced around like a ballerina on hot coals. For someone who is supposed to be a Conservative and supporter of the Second Amendment the answer to the question; do you support the repeal of all firearms laws is as easy as it gets, an unqualified, with no… Read more »
I’m a regular reader of BearingArms. I hope this news means improvements to the site, even though I can’t think of anything that needs to be improved, other than ditching Facebook for the comments section and going with Disqus or something else just as long as they get rid of Farcebook.
Double ditto on Disqus. I don’t bother reading any site with the FB plugin.
