New Jersey – -(AmmoLand.com)- Earlier this week, the lower federal court assigned to ANJRPC’s legal challenge to New Jersey’s magazine ban upheld the state’s gun magazine ban. That ban (on magazines that can hold over 10 rounds) went into effect in December of last year and turned over a million law-abiding citizens into criminals for keeping property that they lawfully purchased previously.
While the decision was disappointing, it was not unexpected, and it actually moves the case more quickly toward its ultimate intended destination: the U.S. Supreme Court. A copy of the lower court’s decision can be viewed by clicking here.
Ignoring that the decision is the first step in a much longer planned journey both the State of NJ and the media ran wild with the story, claiming that ANJRPC had been dealt a “crippling blow.” Click here for NJ.com story.
In fact, the blow was anything but “crippling,” and enables the appeals phase of the case. The posture of the case can be summed up with this headline from bearingarms.com: “NJ Gun Group to State: See You and Your Mag Ban At SCOTUS.” Click here to see that story.
NRA Inside Report
NRA has always been targeted in the media and by hostile government officials, but the narrative has turned unusually brutal lately, and some gun owners are starting to fall for the spin.
ANJRPC Executive Director and NRA Board Member Scott Bach separates fact from fiction in an inside report published on Ammoland.com. This will also be Bach’s column in the upcoming issue of News & Briefs, and it is a revealing look at what is really going on at NRA headquarters. Click here to read the NRA Inside Report

What part of “shall not be infringed” do they not under-stand?
What ALL of you forget is ALL GUN CONTROL LAWS ARE UN-CONSTITUTIONAL. The fact that YOU kneel and lick the hand of the tyrant, PROVES your cowardice. When you meekly obey un-Constitutional ‘gun control laws’, you become LESS of what it means to be an American. Each time you obey, your program your brain to kneel and be a slave. THIS is about communism. The anti-American communist democrats demand a communist America. You must be disarmed to do that. So, with each incremental bite of your Rights, you give up your Rights and sovereignty. Each time you comply, you reinforce… Read more »
No tetejuan, we have not forgotten, and we are not simply obeying them. You tried this before and failed because you wanted a French style revolution, one based on anger, hatred, and blood. The actions you have proposed before violate the Constitutional rights of others for the sake of your opinion. Now, since you are back on the issue of cowardice, would you like to explain why you ran away the last time? Perhaps you just needed a good cry and a little booze to work up the courage to come back. You are a coward who calls other people… Read more »
I own, I carry, I have a good supply, I have 5 dogs, with 2 back-ups, total 7 and none afraid to bark or take large pieces out of someone not invited, all large dogs, I am their back-up for them!!!!! N J has been doing what the rest of the East Coast has been doing for years, selling out the G Q Public, and saying that it is a good thing, ( RIGHT ), they have a bridge for sale in Brooklyn if I’m not mistaken? My parents moved from N J years ago to Pa, I moved from… Read more »
Surrender their magazines, one round at a time!
“NJ Gun Group to State: See You and Your Mag Ban At SCOTUS.”
Yeah, right. That’s all fine and good, but there is nothing compelling the SCOTUS to hear any case. In particular, the SCOTUS doesn’t seem to want to hear any case that might force it to confirm that the Second Amendment says what it means and means what it says. For instance, it recently refused to hear the Kettler suppressor case which could have upended the entire NFA.
@BUZZ, You are correct, sir. That co-equal branch of the federal government can not be compelled. The Executive branch, however, could declare that it is a co-equal branch of the federal government with equal authority to declare any given federal statute Unconstitutional and refuse to enforce it.
Barry Soetoro did not quite go that far, but did refuse to enforce the federal law that he did not like. So it is “do’able”.
Mild Bill, you are an idiot.
The PEOPLE are the power. Look at what you said. If the GOVERNMENT will
declare it un-Constitutional we will be good. NO! The American PEOPLE are
the ultimate POWER & AUTHORITY.
You, like most all Americans, see government as master. As you are a slave,
you will not dare to go against your master.
The government HAS NO POWER to deny Rights. So, try acting like an American,
not a slave.
The government has power BECAUSE YOU KNEEL.
@tetejuan – just curious, since you speak of Wild Bill in such terms you must know him, when did you meet? Do you really think the people are the power? I would contend that in theory that works but in application it is the combined “Voluntary” compliance with generally accepted rules of society that make up our reality (or at least most of us.) I am not a slave, if or when I choose to peacefully coexist with impositions of my daily life because I deem the alternative an overblown response for the situation, or there would be a lot… Read more »
@ttj, I can see that somehow my writing has been unclear. Unfortunately, based upon what you have written, I can not figure out how to clarify what I have written to meet your objections.
What I am asserting is that each of the three branches of federal government are equal, and can equally raze a federal statute that offends the Constitution. I am focusing on how the Executive branch might negate a federal statute without the help of the Supreme Court. That way We the People only have to pressure one federal government official. I hope that this is helpful.
@Wild Bill tetejuan is one of the two cowards who showed up a few weeks ago trying to call for mob violence. He was the first, followed shortly after by Whitesfyre. Both of them showed the same patterns, both accused any who would not join them as cowards, and both ran away like little crybabies after a short back and forth. Don’t fall for his nonsense, he is here as an instigator. I can provide the link for where I dealt with him if you would like to see it. June 23rd rings a bell for some reason, so if… Read more »
Sorry, meant to say July 23rd. Went back and looked, I was close. July 21s actually. So about two weeks for him to work up the courage to return.
Considering how the people of New Jersey vote, the fact that elected Judges would side with the anti 2nd amendment legislature is not surprising. The general population of New Jersey is anti 2nd amendment. That’s how they vote. Too bad the only other responses to the article are about the NRA and not about how to change the minds of the electorate in New Jersey.
Change the mind of a leftist? Are you really that delusional? First of all you assume they even have a mind, and secondly, you assume they can somehow use it if they have one. One thing is for sure, it is far easier to be stupid in society then to be intelligent, because stupid people have an excuse for everything – THEY’RE STUPID! I looked up stupid in the dictionary and the list of homonyms included New Jersey, democrap, muslime, leftist, and AOC!
Do either of you remember the 94 AWB? Ten round limits? Look at NZ, UK or AU and stop falling for the liberals traps. Yes the NRA leadership needs to get it’s shit together, but in the past 15 years the gun industry has had a revolution of innovation and the laws have for the most part been in our favor. We have multiple States that have constitutional concealed carry and we are close to having permit recognition across all state lines. A solid Supreme Court that had ruled in our favor multiple times recently. So yes bitch about the… Read more »
@ Nick c Could you help refresh my memory on the Supreme Court ruling in our favor multiple times recently? I don’t seem to remember them taking on any 2A fights recently. Give us some facts.
@tomcat I absolutely love how these retards use the same idiotic lies over and over. They attempt to equate the NRA as being the same thing as our Rights, and any argument with these morons means they automatically tell you how you will be turning your guns over.. The ironic thing is that that very comment from them is a demonstration of just how cowardly and sheep like they are. It is they who feel that the NRA is the only thing saving them, because they don’t have the balls to stand up and be men by their own actions.… Read more »
Wow, really bitter against the NRA, aren’t you? So now, Nick, by supporting the NRA, is a sheep? And your offended type are the only ones ready to fight for their rights? What a serious delusion you have.
@Bill, By all means, send your hard earned money to WLP, but don’t expect us to send our hard earned money to WLP. There is too much evidence that WLP and his minions have actually worked against our Constitutional Civil Rights.
If there were no gun grabber politicians, we would need neither the NRA nor WLP.
GOA is lean, frugal and gets results in the courts.
It is, however, up to you how you spend your money. Heck some gun owners are free riders.
@Bill First, learn to read. The reason Nick is a sheep is because he views any who don’t fall in line on his side as a threat that must be silenced. It is, as people such as Nick have repeatedly stated here on ammoland, that they believe in the lie that if the NRA ends there will be no second amendment. They attack any who criticize the NRA, accusing them without evidence to try and shame and intimidate them ( the same way the left calls everyone a racist ) into acquiescence of what they want those people to do.… Read more »
@ Rev. The idiots sure don’t come up with anything new. I agree with you, they can come and get my guns, lead first. I have three dogs and two of them are very good at barking when they hear something. When someone we do not know comes to the door I don’t stop them from reacting. I figure that is insurance against some that might think about helping themselves and they are the best alarm you can get. They never miss signals so prior to a door breaking down and people rushing in they know when someone is there.… Read more »

Agreed
Nick C: What makes you think that US citizens will act the way the Nz, UK or AU SUBJECTS do? They are a much more homogeneous group than we are and have no history of freedom. For most of US history, the Americans and the Russians were friends, and if you go to AK they still are. Every Winter they drive across the ice to be with friends. In Nam they said that Russians were Americans without smiles. That being the case, I’ll remind you of an old Cossack saying, “If a fool wishes himself to be enslaved, stand not… Read more »
We saw Scott Bach’s shill piece for NRA and duly rejected his koolaid. Considering he’s a Whiny LaPee-yew apologist, it’s no wonder NJ is having trouble fighting gun control in their state with the likes of Bach at their helm.
I refuse to join any local gun group that fronts for the NRA and carry their water!!
What’s really going on at the NRA? I don’t trust most of the board members to give a full and honest answer. I stopped all donations to the NRA and will not contribute more until a full an independent audit is released.
