BELLEVUE, WA – -(AmmoLand.com)- The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms today is hailing the courage and tenacity of a Florida woman who, despite being eight months pregnant, used an AR-15 rifle to defend her husband and daughter from violent home invaders.
“This is yet another example of why the Second Amendment must be zealously defended,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb, co-author of the recently-released “Good Guys with Guns,” written with Dave Workman, senior editor of TheGunMag.com. “Homeowner Jeremy King told reporters that he would be dead if his wife hadn’t used his AR-15 to shoot one of the robbers and send the other one running.
“Those who would ban such rifles, and restrict the rights of law-abiding citizens to make it impossible to defend themselves and their families against violent thugs would have innocent blood on their hands,” Gottlieb continued. “This was an obviously harrowing experience and we are delighted that the King family is alive, safe and well.”
Career journalist Workman, who is also CCRKBA communications director, observed, “The really telling thing about this and similar self-defense cases is the unsurprising silence from the gun prohibition lobby.”
Gottlieb said the reporting on this story has been gratifying. Both Fox and NBC are carrying stories, and not just via local affiliates.
“This story has made national news,” he noted, “and it helps send a message that law-abiding citizens use firearms to defend themselves every day, putting the lie to claims by gun banners that nobody needs an AR-type rifle. This case clearly says otherwise.”
There are other cases involving armed citizens using semi-auto rifles for personal protection in the book “Good Guys with Guns,” Gottlieb added.
“While CCRKBA would never wish this kind of an incident on any honest citizen,” Gottlieb said, “we will continue defending their rights to have the tools necessary to survive and fend off such an outrage. Our sincere wishes go to the King family for their safety and peace of mind. We’re proud of them.”

Awesome lady there, she’s a keeper ! The more popular the weapon the more the Bloomberg, Dems, anti gunners, Soros go after it. If this pregnant mother did not have that AR at hand they all could have very well been murdered, instead we have one dead thug P.O.S. and another on the run.
So much for the Dems and media continually pushing the idea that the AR kills everything in front of it…. Her daughter, husband and one lucky thug seem to prove that. They also SAVE lives !
This woman saved the lives of her child, husband, her unborn child and herself. Yes, I do count an unborn child as a life because he is. The home invaders would no doubt have gotten into the room she was in. One of them did fire a round at her, both beat her husband, threatened her/their children. The criminal FORFEITED his life by his own actions, the woman did not take his life.
With the “RAP SHEET” of these two THUGS, perhaps it is time to TAKE the “judges” to task for letting them back out on the streets to bide-their-trade.
