On the Sixth & Seventh Day of Christmas, Anti-Gun Reps Gave to Thee: Gun Purchase Ban for 18 to 20 Year-Olds and Lock Your Guns Up

Tired yet?
U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- Our opponents never rest! They will keep coming up with ways to restrict your right to keep and bear arms in the Lone Star State. So NRA-ILA will continue counting down the legislative lumps of coal that anti-Second Amendment lawmakers in Texas are leaving in gun owners’ stockings this year. Because we can’t let up for a minute.
The 2021 Texas legislative session is less than a month away. Please support NRA-ILA as we work with gun owners to STAND YOUR GROUND on your Second Amendment rights at the Capitol in Austin next year!
Next up: House Bill 231 by Rep. Lina Ortega (D-El Paso), which effectively raises the minimum age to purchase certain rifles and shotguns in Texas from 18 to 21; and House Bill 185, mandatory firearms storage legislation sponsored by top Scrooge, Rep. Terry Meza (D-Irving).
Eighteen-year-olds can vote, purchase a car, sign a legal contract, get married, start a family, become a law enforcement officer, join the military and go overseas and die for our country – but they shouldn’t be able to buy semiautomatic rifles or shotguns to hunt, target shoot, or protect themselves and their families? HB 231 treats young adults like second-class citizens when it comes to their right to keep and bear arms.
NRA sued the State of Florida immediately after their legislature enacted an unconstitutional ban on the purchase of long guns by persons aged 18-20 in the aftermath of the Parkland shooting. That case is ongoing.
HB 185 makes it a crime to store a loaded firearm in any manner other than a locked, secure firearm storage device, defined in the bill as a gun safe, gun case or gun cabinet that can only be unlocked by the use of a key, combination or similar means.
We called Meza’s HB 196 repealing Texas’ “No Duty To Retreat” law a criminal protection bill. HB 185 maybe THE ultimate criminal protection bill.
NRA-ILA will oppose HB 231 and HB 185 in the 2021 legislative session and fight to protect your right to defend yourself and your family.
About NRA-ILA:
Established in 1975, the Institute for Legislative Action (ILA) is the “lobbying” arm of the National Rifle Association of America. ILA is responsible for preserving the right of all law-abiding individuals in the legislative, political, and legal arenas, to purchase, possess, and use firearms for legitimate purposes as guaranteed by the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Funny how the NRA keeps posting these but fails to mention how they refused to support constitutional carry every legislative session. The same constitutional carry bills that have been killed by Republicans every single time. The Democrats are swinging for the fences in their push for arms control while the Republicans and the NRA are doing absolutely nothing to repeal unconstitutional arms laws in Texas.
How do scumbag commies like Ortega and Meza win elections in TX?
With everything that eighteen-year-olds have the ability to do, how about reinstituting the ability for eighteen-year-olds to purchase and enjoy “adult” beverages?
Why not, why keep that one exception? If you can deny eighteen-year-olds one “privledge” then you can probably deny them their “rights” also…
THE ONLY REASON these unconstitutional ‘laws’ work is because the screaming yellow coward Americans kneel and bow to them, they obey their masters. These ‘laws’ are unconstitutional as they are not in 100% harmony with the constitution. No law may stand if it is not in 100% harmony with the constitution as the constitution is the framework on which all laws rest and all laws MUST be in harmony with it. Otherwise, the ‘law’ is not worth the paper it is written on. The Founding Fathers spoke to this in the Federalist Papers, had any of you read them. Our… Read more »
Give credit where its’ due, I suppose. These azzholes are tenacious, if nothing else… dumb as (lower cumulative IQ than) a bag of hammers, but tenacious!
