The BRN-601 is a detail-accurate replica of the upper receiver on the first AR-15 type rifle adopted in the early 1960s. It features the correct “slickside” receiver, fine-quality matte gray anodized finish, a 20″ 5.56x45mm NATO barrel with a 1-12″ twist and chrome-lined bore, chromed slickside M16 bolt-carrier group with a robust 9310 steel alloy bolt, and the distinctive original three prong “duckbill” flash hider.

A lot of money for looks. Not a collector grade rifle is the result, only a fake representation of a rifle that neither shoots better or adds value to an an AR design of yesteryear.
Better off buying a decent shooter and using the leftover cash for ammo stores.
The forward assist was added for some reason in the past. I imagine these will never get fired enough to be an issue. Not sure I want to deal with the stilted sights although I am a bit nostalgic for the look. Pricey for what you get.
Way too spendy for just an upper. Most likely one could get similar parts from JSE, etc. and build an entire retro style gun for less.
I dunno… actually… anything can be “collector grade”… if a collector wants it, it’s collector grade…. while it may not be “authentic”, it can fill a slot in a collection.
