Today, women firearms experts, advocates, and dealers from across the country will testify at a hearing hosted by the House Judiciary Committee’s Crime and Federal Government Surveillance Subcommittee. The hearing, titled “Second Amendment Rights Empower Women’s Rights,” will explore how firearm ownership empowers women and has led to an increase in female gun owners and discuss the role of the Second Amendment as the nation continues to be plagued by violent crime.

Hearing witnesses include Beth Alcazar, a USCCA member, author of the USCCA’s Women’s Handgun & Self-Defense Fundamentals training curriculum and editor-at-large of Concealed Carry Magazine, as well as Geneva Solomon, a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) dealer; Shirley Watral, State Director for Florida at Women For Gun Rights; and Ruth M. Glenn, President of Survivor Justice Action.

Alcazar’s testimony highlights the growing number of responsible, trained gun owners from all walks of life and the work that the USCCA has done to educate and empower women gun owners.

Highlights from Alcazar’s opening statement include:

“I have made a personal choice to live as a mom with a gun. After all, I have three children who look to me as their guide, coach, counselor, and protector. And my journey in — and my dedication to — firearms, self-defense, and training has all been motivated by them.”

“As a woman and a mother, I am honored to be one of the leading instructors in the firearms industry. With this, I have witnessed, firsthand, a rich diversity as scores of American women are purchasing, training with, and carrying firearms in the name of female empowerment.”

“I view the attempt to limit or even criminalize law-abiding gun owners as anti-productive and dangerous, potentially carrying grave consequences for the safety of our families and our communities. The reality is that violent criminals — many with evil intent — do exist and are terrorizing us. This shouldn’t be the way that we live.”

The USCCA has the privilege of working with thousands of industry-leading instructors and educators like Alcazar, whose testimony provides a clear reminder that law-abiding citizens should be able to defend themselves from danger at all times, especially the growing demographic of women gun owners. While many anti-gun politicians claim to be pro-women, it’s clear that attempts to further restrict the right to self-defense through ineffective gun control laws will ultimately hurt more women than they help.

About the USCCA

The U.S. Concealed Carry Association (USCCA) is an association of responsible armed Americans whose members get exceptional self-defense education, lifesaving training, and self-defense liability insurance, preparing them for the before, during and after of a lawful act of self-defense. Headquartered in West Bend, WI, the USCCA is the largest, fastest-growing self-defense association dedicated to responsible gun owners.

What’s the one thing I heard from the democrap side again and again. Women against this, women against that, jewish women, mom’s demand action. I think when we allowed women to vote that we messed up. I was all for equality between women and men but too many times I have seen and heard that more women than not are against the right to bear arms. I hope others on this board noticed that when the democraps kept going to the same ant gunner for answers that she had no real answer, it was always analyze this review that. The… Read more »

For well over 45+ years men AND women sat back on their apathetic butts and ALLOWED an unchecked power to erode our society. Feminism, “women’s equal rights”. We are GUARANTEED CHECKS AND BALANCES OF ALL POWER… So WHAT happened here? I run into MANY women that claim to not agree with feminism, yet their pedicures, hair salon appointments and nights out with the girls get in their way of publicly denouncing and tearing down the feminist regime. Same with men. We get what we allow!

musicman44mag

I think as with any group, once they feel empowered, they do not want to lose it. The problem is the lengths they will go to so they can keep it.

USMC0351Grunt

Yes, but to keep WHAT exactly? Something they already HAD?

Grigori

Spot-on, Musicman44! Like yourself, I used to be all about equality of the sexes and for women’s rights. I have observed the absolute disaster that women voting and entering political office has been for our country. I have several female friends who have likewise noted what a mistake giving women the vote and allowing them to hold political office has been. Not saying that men are great in those endeavors. We have lots of scumbag men in office at all levels of government, but women almost invariably take the self-love, entitlement, and greed, that men have, to additional levels. With… Read more »

I add, MTG, Sarah Palin, Lauren Boebert to that list. Wow, four women in political power that are for the 2nd amendment and all the democrats are against it.

Trump/Noem 2024, that’s my ticket.

Grigori

Four women who “claim to be” for the Second Amendment but other than posturing, have not done much other than to do as Haley and try to bolster their personal brand for their personal greater good. I wonder how Hoe-bert and her libtard boyfriend are doing lately, after making spectacles of themselves at a concert hall or like venue earlier this year.

Humm. didn’t know about the concert thing.

This is admittedly an offshoot from HuffPo, an ultra-liberal site, but the story is consistant with other versions I read.

What an unbelievably ignorant, backwards and morally bereft comment. Did you forget all the MEN who also support denial of 2A rights or are you just basically a woman hater? Anyone reading your comment has just lost seven points off whatever IQ they may have had. No wonder our kids suck at reading and forming coherent, intelligent sentences.

musicman44mag

Lol, if you don’t realize the numbers than I cannot help you. Women were the ones that put the muslim in office that started the destruction of America. Need I say more.

musicman44mag

Dear Rob. All the democrats includes the men too.

I am a member of the USCCA, and I might add a proud member! They have gone out of their way more than once to answer any, and all questions I’ve had.
A friendlier bunch of people you’ll never meet. When ever I call with concerns for whatever they are not only professional but also make you feel as though you’ve known each other for years!
If anybody wants to join mention my name, you won’t regret it.

I take it you never read the fine print as to what they WON’T do if you get busted for… ANYTHING? It’s illegal for insurance companies to guarantee sovereignty in criminal or civil actions. READ THE FINE PRINT! Actually, just READ the contract! Just sayin’!

Yep! There is at least one, maybe more, person who has suffered from USCCA’s refusal to help them. I never would have joined them just because of their obnoxious, annoying, and incessant, ads that are found most everywhere. Thank You for pointing this out. A lot of people think they are covered in case of an unfortunate event, but in reality might not be.

Insurance is one of if not the biggest scams in America. It’s a never losing battle for them. They insure you, they pay a 1/2 of what its worth, prices go up for everyone to cover the loss the next year and it never changes. The biggest kicker is, even though they always win, if you have too many claims or in my case one claim with Allstate when I sold my car and turned in the dent where I hit a parking garage pole, I was canceled and then put on a list where I had to pay an… Read more »

Musicman44, you are so on-target with this comment! I have said for decades that the insurance industry (all forms) is evil incarnate. When my biological dad died in 1991, he left me what was supposed to be a $10K policy. I forget the name of the company, but they ran a lot of TV ads showing lively parties and noting that “While other insurance companies were out having a good time, your XYZ agent was sitting up late and making sure you had the best coverage”, or words to similar effect. A couple of weeks after he passed, I sent… Read more »

We should do just like the democrap house in Oregoneistan. Line up thousands of people that claim having a gun saved their lives. Doesn’t matter if it is true or not, all that matters is we have more people to support what we want and do unto others as they have done to us. No different than stuffing the ballot box.
