Last Sunday, 12/10 at 12:30 PST, Radian Weapons premiered a video on YouTube entitled “Radian AFTERBURNER + RAMJET Ransom Rest Test for Recoil Reduction” and promised their audience that 25 unique promotional codes for 100% off Radian’s hard-to-get AFTERBURNER micro-compensator + RAMJET ported pistol barrel combo would be dropped in the live chat during the premiere. Thousands of viewers gathered in the “virtual lobby” and hundreds of comments accumulated in the live chat as excitement grew in the hours leading up to the premiere.
The video, in which Founder and CEO Joshua Underwood explains the six design requirements of Radian’s pistol barrel/micro-compensator combo, began as advertised. About 30 seconds into the film, the first promo code was dropped into the live chat.

A representative from Radian Weapons explained, “We had anticipated and prepared for a surge in web traffic but the response from the 44% recoil reduction film was much more than expected and quickly overwhelmed our site”. The site crashed less than 35 seconds into the film.
Viewers determined to win maintained a watchful eye, along with a persistent finger on the refresh button, on Radian’s website. The site came back online later that afternoon, and the codes were promptly redeemed by dedicated and persevering fans.
Radian Weapons publicly apologized for the snafu, promising that they’d regroup and “make it up” to their Instagram followers and YouTube subscribers who were affected by the site crash. Responses were mixed, as should be expected, with creative comments like; “Radian servers got nuked Oppenheimer style” and “One thing Radian learned today is how big their customer base is. Y’all found out today. Everything that comes out of their facility is top shelf.”
The video in question showcases the pride of Radian’s “PISTOL EVOLVED” campaign (the AFTERBURNER + RAMJET) and is everything you’d hope it would be– informative, scientific, entertaining and most importantly, it substantiates their claim of 44% recoil reduction. By using a modified Ransom Rest for superior testing accuracy, the video compares the recoil of ten rounds through a Glock 19 with a stock barrel to another ten rounds through Radian’s AB+RJ.
