You’re thinking of Morgan Woodward, and you’re right. I thought it was he when I first saw the picture, too. I loved Woodward’s voice. He was named after the doctor who delivered him.

I remember him from the American Sportsman tv show on ABC while growing up. He was a role model to me. I wanted to be able to hunt like him and cast a line like Kurt Gowdey. Good memories.
He didn’t need ear protection. Those sideburns are boss enough to block all sound from getting to his ears.
