SureFire, LLC, manufacturer of the world’s finest—and most innovative—illumination tools and tactical products, is proud to announce our most powerful compact rechargeable handgun weaponlight for concealed-carry users, the XR1.
SureFire XR1 Compact Rechargeable Handgun Light
The XR1 is a compact, rechargeable handgun light that boasts an impressive 800 lumens and 15,000 candela. The XR1 is activated with intuitive ambidextrous switches that allow for both momentary-on or constant-on activation. This concealable weaponlight operates on a quick-detach battery, enabling the operator to swap out the power source without removing the light from the host weapon.
The XR1 is designed for a concealable mid-size handgun with its ultra-lightweight, extremely compact, low-profile design. Its new rail mount features four points of contact to ensure an added measure of redundancy and security when mounted to a weapon. The dual recoil-proof LEDs result in a Hybrid beam pattern with significant reach downrange as well as ample spill light, so you can positively ID targets at distance while maintaining situational awareness.

Impressive specs! The XR1-A weighs only 2.65oz = 75g, not much more than my TLR-7sub at 2.39oz = 67.76g, and gives 60% more lumens and triple the candela. Using a proprietary battery instead of a commodity CR123A lithium cell is an interesting design choice. It means you need a second proprietary B13 rechargeable battery and a proprietary CH22 charger. I only change my cell annually, or after a low-light training session, so the convenience of not needing to remove the light from the pistol’s rail is not a big improvement for me. I hesitate with the price, and with supporting… Read more »
Its not April Fools Day. But my goodness, a bulky searchlight on a pistol screaming here I am shoot me. And on a carry gun ? It adds nearly 3 oz of muzzle weight. Not for me. But Im sure some will buy them, the same guys who have to own one of everything.
Muzzle weight helps reduce muzzle flip. Light won’t come on unless I “tell” it too, including option of momentary on. Having shot after dark – I look for any advantage if I need to use carry gun in the dark. If I ever have to utilize that tool I expect to be in low light situation. Of course my most likely shooting would be a coyote going for one of our dogs – and they don’t typically shoot back.
