ANDERSON, Ind. – A recent shooting in downtown Anderson has been deemed a case of self-defense,according to local authorities. The incident, which occurred on the evening of July 8th, involved a 51-year-old local businessman who was attacked while walking along 9th Street.
The businessman, reportedly participating in a Pokémon-style scavenger hunt on his phone, was suddenly ambushed by 40-year-old Michael Piercy. Piercy, who was homeless, punched the businessman in the face and stole his cell phone. In response, the victim pulled out his gun and shot Piercy in a nearby parking lot, just a few hundred feet from the Madison County Courthouse. Piercy was pronounced dead at an Anderson hospital.
Madison County Prosecutor Rodney Cummings stated that the shooter has not been arrested and that no criminal charges are expected to be filed. “Everything that’s been presented to me looks like a very strong self-defense case,” said Cummings.
Indiana law permits individuals to use deadly force to protect themselves or their property if they believe they are in danger of serious injury or death. This incident appears to fit within those legal boundaries, as Piercy had not only attacked the businessman but had also allegedly threatened several other people in the area prior to the shooting.
Piercy had a history of criminal behavior, with at least 10 convictions in Henry County since 2001, including battery, burglary, and possession of meth. He was most recently released from custody in April.
The prosecutor emphasized the tragic nature of the incident but noted that the businessman acted in self-defense. “This is one where somebody defended themselves, and it probably would have been a much worse situation had he not had a gun,” Cummings remarked.
The case remains under investigation, and Anderson Police are still seeking any additional information from the public. FAFO.
Love a story with a happy ending. Way to clean up the streets, he is a threat no more!!!!!
Take America Back Trump 2024
Piercy will no longer require incarceration and the tax payers burden has been relieved . A happy ending for all !
You may have seen a new(ish) acronym: FAFO.
It stands for F*ck Around, Find Out.
Like it. I heard Bongino a year or so ago play the sound clip of the guy describing the FAFO graph, it amused me as much as it did Bongino. Now it’s become the newest everyday lexicon. I hope the guy who originally posted the FAFO graph had the good sense to copy-write his idea.
This is the fault of the judges who let the A**hole out 10 times to prey on society.
Our hero should receive TAX FREE STATUS for life and the keys to the city from a grateful populace for preventing the next judge from releasing the turd to continue victimizing the citizens
Problem solved. Problem stays solved!
It’s hard to hear someone loses their life over the thieft of a cell phone . wish there was a body cam for this one. I just hope he didn’t shoot the guy in the back running away, and that his response was proportional to the threat . Concealed carry comes with great responsibility I too cary and would hate to be put in that situation.
Yes, but consider quality of life as a whole. At some point the balance of life tips to the unacceptable. If government debt causes the country to fail and people then starve that is a tipping point. If government limits your rights and you can not travel and do business required for a free and happy life, then the scales tip to the other side. If bad people drag everybody’s life down to the point that it is not worth living, then the causes of that need to be removed for the greater good.

Jsot,
Just remember it was Piercy who placed such a low value on his life, by his actions, not the businessman.
The Businessman was a Democrat, and his brother was the Police Chief? Suppose the businessman had a MAGA shirt on?
