Democrat Senator asks AG Nominee Pam Bondi whether she would advocate for national “red flag” gun confiscation laws, gun bans for 18-20 year old adults, & universal gun registration checks.

President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for Attorney General of the United States, Pam Bondi, gave some troubling answers on guns during her confirmation hearing in front of Congress.
When asked about gun laws such as “red flags,” Bondi said she would defend the laws of the United States like she defended Florida laws and offered to sit down and talk with anti-gun Senators on “common sense gun safety” laws. This willingness to meet with Senators about implementing what most in the gun community consider to be unconstitutional legislation is concerning for Second Amendment activists.
Ms. Bondi was nominated to be the next Attorney General of the United States after Matt Gaetz withdrew his nomination due to allegations of sexual misconduct. Mr. Gaetz is a staunch supporter of the Second Amendment. Many assumed Trump would pick another strong gun rights candidate. Instead, he chose one that isn’t as strong on gun rights as many hoped he would.
Ms. Bondi has a mixed past when it comes to guns. She claims to be a staunch supporter of the Second Amendment, but her history doesn’t support her assertion. Although she has taken some pro-gun stances in the past, she has also praised and defended gun control as the Florida Attorney General.
Notably, Bondi celebrated the Parkland gun control bill. The bill instituted “red flag” laws, also known as extreme risk protection orders (ERPO). Under an ERPO, police can confiscate a person’s firearms because someone asserts they are a danger to themselves or others. The ERPO is issued in an ex parte hearing where the target isn’t present or even notified. Many believe that “red flag” laws are constitutionally dubious because of the lack of due process protections.
The Parkland bill also raised the age to buy a rifle from a dealer from 18 to 21. The Second Amendment says, “the right of the people.” The courts have taken that to mean the political class. The political class is those that have reached the age of majority and can do things such as vote. Her stance on firearms age restrictions disarms part of the political class. She has defended the law in court and expressed support for the Parkland gun control measures.
Ms. Bondi has also defended Florida’s ban on open carry. Although permitless concealed carry is allowed in the Sunshine State, open carry is banned unless you are fishing or hunting. Florida is one of the only states that prohibits the open carrying of firearms, even when a resident has a concealed carry permit. Ms. Bondi chose to defend a law that many gun owners believe is unconstitutional.
If Bondi is confirmed, she will run the Department of Justice (DOJ). The DOJ oversees the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), which, under the Biden administration, has been hostile to firearms ownership. Gun owners hoped President Trump would appoint a constitutionalist to head the DOJ, but that isn’t what Bondi is.
Ms. Bondi is expected to be confirmed unless the public can sway their representatives to vote against her. If she is confirmed, gun owners must use their voices to push Congress to ensure she doesn’t violate any American’s God-given constitutionally protected rights as she did to the citizens of Florida.

So she’s gonna take ’em to the range and teach ’em how to hit their intended target? How to fire a full-auto in short bursts so it doesn’t walk on ’em? I mean, those are actual “gun control” issues…
Perhaps it’s time to raise the age to vote to 21?
Now, I know some pretty head smart 18-31 year olds, but there are so many more that are more like 12 year olds.
Hell, for decades now, they all had to wait until they were 21 to buy a hand gun on their own, but not a rifle?
It makes no sense that there are two different ages. Why isn’t anyone pushing to lower the age for handgun purchases by 21 yr olds?
Because it’s not a good idea.
What else can she say to answer such a question? As the attorney general, she must be guided by and enforce the laws that the legislature passes. You can’t have it both ways and be constitutionally correct.
That BIOTCH needs to be kicked to the curb for the trash collectors to pick up and take her to the dump!! She’s as Deep State as they come, but she hides in a closet!! We don’t need anyone who will “work with” the ones who want to disarm us! What she really meant there, was she’s willing to work FOR the ones who want to disarm us!! After what she tried to do to George Zimmerman, a totally innocent man who was merely trying to defend his own life, she needs to be relegated to earning her living as… Read more »
I see the excuses have already started. It’s amazing how you can show people evidence, voting records, history, etc… and people will still find a way to excuse bad behavior and infringement as long as it’s their guy doing it. This woman spent her entire career as AG advocating for and enforcing arms laws. She’s even in video telling Trump about Florida’s new red flag law and he’s supportive of it. Bondi: “What we want to do is let law enforcement come in and take the guns.” Trump: “Good.” https://youtu.be/P5tP3OLhmA0?si=UF0wP7wOPJUsOn9J You can support the 2A or you can support red… Read more »
