West Virginia –Â -(Ammoland.com)- Campaign Season is Upon Us
On the heels of our enormous victory on Constitutional Carry, campaign season has arrived. I mention this because “meet the candidate” events are popping up statewide. Even prior to our releasing of endorsements (which are coming soon) it is absolutely worthwhile to attend these events.
It allows you to get in on the “ground floor” of a candidate’s platform. Even before they are elected, you can show them who the West Virginia Citizens Defense League ( WVCDL ) is, and what we are about.
Trust me when I tell you that they are not used to seeing groups of concerned citizens appear at these events.
Also, trust me when I tell you that they will be interested in courting your vote. This is because they know you represent hundreds more. They also know that you wearing a black shirt means that likely, your friends, neighbors, and coworkers look to you for advice on where to place their vote. Because wearing that shirt means you are involved, and you pay attention.
So watch for these events. Attend when you can. And when you do, treat it like a job interview. Except in this interview, you are the boss, interviewing a perspective employee. And you need to know if they’ll do your work when elected.
The Constitutional Carry National Narrative
For a moment, I am going to deviate from our long-standing policy about discussing WV-only. We will not make a habit of it. However, something noteworthy has happened.
Those who were present for the Senate veto override heard Art and I talk about the state of the WVCDL and some of the ripple effects of our success. I told those present, that our blood sweat and tears is affecting the national narrative. Neither of us expected to see that come to fruition so quickly.
Idaho just passed constitutional carry. I read their bill. I was not at all surprised to see that the legislative method they used to enact constitutional carry in Idaho was nearly identical to the way it was done here.
You should be aware that this was not coincidence.
Our fight is, and will always remain in West Virginia. But it certainly warms my heart that the 9th state to pass Constitutional Carry, utilized our success as a model. This is not to take anything away from the patriots in Idaho. Their fight was as bitter as ours, I’m sure. ( read: Rickety Road to Permitless Carry, How Idaho MADE it Happen)
And I’m also sure the same kind of grassroots activism was required by their citizens.
Regardless, remember this always.
Liberty is contagious.

Tennessee was working on it but 5 republicans teamed up with 9 democrats to kill it in committee. I wish the NRA would give them F’s and recommend they not be reelected.
This would have never been possible years ago without Keith Morgan and WVCDL.
I would so love to live in Wyoming or Idaho. The East is such a messed up place. Virginia is very gun friendly, but so overpopulated that it’s impossible to find a place to just go out in the woods and shoot.
I hope you are not one of those who think WV is part of Virginia.
I just got my “enhanced” Idaho CCW permit, but when I heard about this bill, I contacted my state reps and Governor Otter and encouraged them to pass it. I do worry about people just packing guns because they can, without getting some basic training with the firearm as well as training on when it’s appropriate to use your weapon. But I believe we need to get back to respecting our Constitutional rights. I would also highly recommend that anyone that is planning to carry, get professional training, know the laws, and practice, practice, practice.
While I support the right of those who want to carry openly; I would not recommend it as a good idea. It is the equivalent of carrying a sign that reads, “shoot me first”. It is far better for the miscreant to be surprised to find that the intended victim is armed.
I wish we had National Constitutional Carry (NCC). NCC is the only way residents from anti-gun states will get relief.
Happy to see WV wise up to Manchin’s charlatan ways.
I wish Nikki Haley had the balls to support this.
Nikki Haley is a “FOREIGNER” born in the US and holding public office. These types have NO CLUE what the Constitution actually means or American history, just like her lack of understanding of the Confederate Battle Flag!
If you really care about gun rights, be sure to vote and encourage others to vote against the socialists/communists known collectively as democrats. No matter how many lies they tell, believe they will try to take away your right to self defense. If you can stand on your own two feet, they can’t control you.
I concur.
Does ga. Have or working on constitutional carry
