Chatsworth, IL -(AmmoLand.com)- I am pleased to announce the ISRA has won the Whistler Boy Team Match at the National Championships at Camp Perry, Ohio.

The Whistler team is Liam McKenna and Alex Vitous. Liam also made the National Junior Team. Long time ISRA team member John Holliger made the National Senior Team. Good going guys!

Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of co-teaching a Women On Target (WOT) class at the ISRA Range. I would like to thank Kevin Monk and all the great instructors and range officers who helped. We had 31 wonderful ladies attend. Women are the fastest growing segment of the gun owning community right now. These women had a variety of reasons for attending the class and they finished knowing a lot more than when they came to the class (they all qualified, by the way). The ISRA will be hosting a WOT Shotgun Class on October 1, 2016, at the ISRA Range. The next WOT Pistol Clinic will be held on October 22, 2016, at the Chillicothe Sportsmen’s Club. Please call the ISRA office for details.

I am always encouraging everyone to get more training. There is no other way to be ready when the unthinkable happens. Even then, there is no guarantee everything will come out right, but it certainly shifts the odds in your favor. I often comment on the problem of terror attacks, which I believe will come in greater numbers. I don’t want to forget the evil doers who roam our streets. They are not limited to the big cities, by the way.

The following cases took place before concealed carry, and in two cases, concealed carry probably would not have made a difference. The purpose is to tell everyone what is out there. First, a little girl was kidnapped from her driveway and was eventually found in a culvert. She had been molested and slowly strangled. The killer actually described how long it took her to die. The second case involved an 11-year-old boy who was also kidnapped. He was found two weeks later, stripped naked and hanged. While he was still alive, his private parts were cannibalized.

This last case, concealed carry certainly could have made a difference but these two would-be perpetrators were caught in time. In this case, two perverts equipped their car with a baby seat and went in search of a young mother with a female child. They had determined if the mother resisted, which she undoubtedly would have, they would simply kill her and take the baby. I didn’t include all of the details because they are more disgusting than you can imagine, but they are true. The first two cases were heard in the Illinois House of Representative on January 6, 2011, in a floor debate. This last case was related to me by a retired detective.

No one, including myself, wants to think about things like this, but if we don’t, we will not understand the evil that is out there nor will we prepare to meet it. I urge everyone to get more training. Getting a concealed carry license is a start, but only a start. Hoping that something like this does not happen to you or your family is not a good strategy.

Since June, terrorist attacks in the Western world have been about every 84 hours, or slightly less than 3.5 days. We are told that it is because we are reducing the size of the Caliphate in Syria and Iraq, but the terrorists say something different. It is because the West does not embrace Islam. ISIS tells us there are only three choices, convert to Islam, pay the infidel tax, or death. ISIS furthers tells us they are teaching their children to learn the languages of the West so they can act as spies, intercept communications and execute operations on infidel lands. They also stressed attacking infidels in their homelands. It is obvious that we are going to be fighting them here in ever increasing numbers. There is not going to be any peaceful coexistence. Don’t be duped. The politicians who promote that are surrounded by armed guards. They seem to talk about ISIS not being an existential threat. That may be true for the elite, politically connected, but that is not true for you and me. We have to take care of ourselves, yet those same elitists want to squash the Second Amendment, so we can’t. Remember that in November.
