Melanie is a fighter. She is passionate about our God-given right to keep and bear arms — both for sport, hunting, and shooting — but also for protection of ourselves, our families, our communities, our nation, and our freedoms.
Melanie was instrumental in the campaign to amend the Texas constitution to protect hunting and fishing. And, as someone who will not compromise on principle, I can say that I trust Melanie to give every last ounce of devotion to protect the Second Amendment, even against great odds.
Melanie Is The Face Of The Second Amendment’s Fastest-Growing Demographic
At a time when young women are shooting their way to Olympic Gold and other international recognition, Melanie will put a face on their aspirations. For embattled women in intercity neighborhoods, Melanie will show them that it is possible to take their destinies into their own hands.
Melanie Is A Lifelong Hunter — And Is A Champion Of Wildlife Conservation
She fired her first shot when the love of her life — her future husband — took her hunting. Since then, Melanie has won the SCI Diana Award for hunting, and is a member of the NRA Hunters Leadership Forum and the NRA Hunting and Wildlife Conservation Committee. She was president of the Houston Safari Club and was named International Huntress of the Year.
Melanie Will Be A Mentor To A New Generation Of Gun Owners
As a step-mother, grandmother, and godmother, Melanie believes that training in the safe and effective use of firearms teaches our youth both self-esteem and personal responsibility. She knows that the new generation of gun owners represents the future of the Second Amendment community.

A GOA endorsement is a strike against her. The NRA, speaking strictly for myself, does not need the GOA’s feeble and ineffective assistance. In my personal experience most GOA members are NRA malcontents. To my knowledge, the GOA has no board of directors and iis a profit making organization for Larry Pratt. My opinion, could be wrong.
I know Melanie and her husband. I trust her to speak for all of us who believe in the strength of the 2nd Amendment, the God given right to protect ourselves, our loved ones and our property and to preserve the freedoms we enjoy as Americans.
It might be good, in a refreshing way, to have a few GOA members on the NRA board. This one seems energetic and passionate. I think that she will, now, only need 78,999 votes. I may even do that one vote only to preclude any of my votes going against her.
