Some republicans, please remember, in November, those that did not vote for it in both houses. Please also remember in November how Dan Patrick tried to sink it when it originally went to the Senate.
Probably, those proud Texas Democrats.
Regarding who came out… The most present groups I remember who spoke in committees on HB1927 were: – GoA-TX (wow!) – the Mom’s and associated Bloomberg groups (mostly in the Senate) – Texas Freedom Force (never heard of them before, but was impressed). I believe the Mom’s, et al, were encouraged in the Senate by the Lt Gov’s statements before and during the legislative session. Our governor and Lt. Governor both spend was too much time sitting on the fence with their fingers in the air, trying to determine which way the wind is blowing. Patrick, in particular, is not particularly conservative outside his own pet issues, like abortion; and it took way more political pressure to get them motivated than it should have to get them to do their jobs getting Constitutional Carry passed.
Here we go again with LaPierre’s bitches trying to take credit for something they had NOTHING to do with in an effort to keep their daddy’s money rolling in so Wayne can afford his obscene lifestyle at members’ expense.
What does this bill really say and provide? What are the exceptions?
Thanks to all here in Texas that contacted our state reps and showed up for the hearings and voiced opions. We finally did it. Now we move on to our border wall. Tell Abbott we’re willing to pay to secure our border. Land or sales tax increases temporarily to fund the wall completion.
Aren’t your real estate taxes, high enough for you??. Mine were.
Haven’t they stole enough of your money for a wall ? Over $ 280 BILLION from Reagan till now. A completed wall was estimated at $60 billion on the high end. Why worry about a wall when the DOD are flying them in the middle of the night to a city near you & me. Supposedly States are unaware. lol
