Washington, D.C. – -(Ammoland.com)- Yesterday, reports emerged on the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) admitting to managing a federal database of nearly a billion gun transfer records.

This information was submitted as a response to a letter sent by Congressman Cloud (TX-27) in November 2021.

“A federal firearm registry is explicitly banned by law. Yet, the Biden Administration is again circumventing Congress and enabling the notably corrupt ATF to manage a database of nearly a billion gun transfer records,” Congressman Cloud said.

“The Biden Administration continues to empower criminals and foreign nationals while threatening the rights of law-abiding Americans. It’s shameful and this Administration should reconsider its continued attacks on American gun owners.”

Deplorable Bill

Trust the atfe???? Along with most of the country,I watched the atfe MURDER 79 innocent men, women, children and infants in Waco Tex. All of this for the supposed “crime” of not paying an unconstitutional tax of $200.00 per fully automatic firearm. When the fire was put out, the atfe said they found 4 POSSIBLE fully automatic rifles. $800.00 in unconstitutional fees/taxes is the excuse the atfe used to murder AND GET AWAY WITH IT. Then there is Ruby Ridge and hundreds of other like stories. The atfe was up for congressional investigation and they needed to “prove” their worth.… Read more »

That was TO PUT “FEAR INTO THE PEOPLE ” That was the BEGINNING OF ” FLEXING THEIR POWER ” AND THEY HAVEN’T STOPPED SINCE !!! THEY ARE NOT EVEN “ELECTED OFFICALS ‘ !

Rodoeo

We’re supposed to protect our children, not marry them off at 11 years old to 40 year old men a half dozen at a time, like what was happening in Waco. Sorry but I have a big problem with that.

Dave

I concur, this was about way more than automatic weapons. They just used the tax stamp as a way in. But they should not have murdered or allow to be murdered all those souls.

I am aware of what Koresh had done and was still doing. The atfe had a chance to grab him in town that am but decided to attack the whole compound even after they were told the compound knew they were coming. The atfe was under congressional review and thus they had a need to prove their worth and necessity. All but a very few people, men, women, children and infants, the very ones they needed to prove what Koresh was doing were murdered by the atfe. Per one of the survivors the first round fired was from the atfe… Read more »

The appropriate government agency had already been investigating Koresh regarding allegations of child abuse.

The McLennan County Sheriff Department contacted the BATFE and asked them to investigate what they believed were NFA violations.

The BATFE responded to the Sheriff Department request.

The BATFE and FBI brought up the child endangerment issues later to justify their insane actions.

They killed the children to protect them.

Yup, I am aware Sir.

Arm up and carry on

The McLennan County Sheriff’s Dept. Sounds like a bunch of scared chickenshits.

trust not so much, jail for violation of constitution under title 18 , add about half of fbi and ss we got a start to fixing problems get rid of bad eggs and mediocre would would do better

nod

Read the book “Unintended Consequences” and you will find many over steps by the ATF. The book was published in 1995 so I imagine the author John Ross could write another 800 page now a days. I actually wish he would write a new book.

Wild Bill

I have read it and the history that it recites alone is worth the price!

The sequel has been rumored for 20 years.

Arizona Don

If, in fact, the tenth amendment is still in effect (or for that matter any of the constitution) the BATFE is an illegal agency if it is not specifically listed in the constitution as a federal agency authority. Most if not all of the federal agencies now in power here in the US are and have been illegal since their inception if the constitution does not specifically give permission to the federal government to enact such an agency it/they are the responsibility of the states! That is according to the tenth amendment!   Both political parties have ignored the tenth amendment for over… Read more »

Az. I absolutely agree. The day will come when “they” will come for our firearms just as they have promised/threatened. When this happens it will start the second war for freedom and rights and, maybe, independence. The LORD says for us to keep and bear arms and this is further written into law as our constitution. That is all the marching orders I need. I am an old man, crippled in military service and now terminal. If it has to start someplace, let it be here with me. I’ve got nothing better to do. I took my oath to protect and… Read more »

i will not surrender anything i have to a government agent. they can take it from my dead body after they crawl over numerous bodies to get what they want.
batfe is nothing but a violent, well-funded government gang that needs to be fought against.
layer up your defenses people, it seems like it is going to get real soon, be ready.

swmft

it is headed that way

Laddyboy

I concur. However, I HOPE and PRAY it does not begin —- AGAIN!

second on the blood and broken bones ,

Laddyboy

Thank you Sir!!

Dee

Funny shit that we are talking about the ATFE and not LEO. LEOs has assassinated more people of color than all the crap that the ATF has done. Let’s complain about that sh!t first!! Of course they have also assassinated many white Americans as well. Now that’s our fight. Most of you should know considering Jan 6th.

It the ATF did signed off on all my cans tho. I’ll give them credit for that!!

Jose

Not only the ATF is circumventing law to create a registry but pushing the frame & receivers, pistol braces thru w/o congress approval.
A cease and desist must be issued to stop this power grab…!!!

Roland T. Gunner

Please don’t leave out the forced reset triggers.

Dogma Factor

Dear Congressman Michael Cloud what do you propose as a remedy? Perhaps Congress should withhold funding from the ATF until it’s gone or the registration database is gone. As Congress holds the power of the purse should it take action? It appears that the ATF budget is to large as they have time and funds for illegal and banded activities.

Perhaps you could start the ground work for Congressional hearings in 2022 on the ATF? That way congress could inquire about Hunter Biden and ATF’s lack of action and many other unsavory things.

It is what it is.

The fix is in & the game was rigged ago. They lie to us. We know they lie to us. Yet we continue to play their game knowing they lie to us. They rule us & they fool us over & over.

The definition of insanity is to continue to make the same mistake over & over & expect different results.

Democrats “Do as I say not as I do” that should be there next election slogan. Is anyone surprised by this article the NSA and all the alphabet government agencies have been keeping records on Americans. The NSA data center sign in front of the building in Utah reads You have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear. They stores information counted in exabytes maybe we could ask them for Hillary’s missing Emails and phone records. In 2014 the cost of this data center was at a staggering 1.5 billion that data center has the capability to process “all… Read more »

“You have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear” is based on a premise that having something to hide means doing something wrong. I like to keep my passwords and bank info private, among other reasons to prevent theft or fraud. Additionally my wife would like me to keep certain body parts hidden from anyone but her. Does anyone claim that there is something wrong with hiding things or that we do not have right to do so? Anyone invading my privacy is by definition “a bad guy” and deserving of whatever penalties can be enacted. Working for the… Read more »

The illegal ‘registry’ seems to be pretty well established but my thought is that the nearly one BILLION sales figure ought to be making the powers that be be a bit hesitant about employing any draconian gun confiscation scheme. That figure is at least 40% MORE privately owned firearms than the most generous guesstimate (circa 600 million) about the numbers in private hands.

swmft

some of these would be cases where a gun was sold multiple times, I think the duplicates cancel out, but the pre 1968 no serial number guns that has to be in there i have about 20 and some were acquired at shops how many others make and model no serial would skew the list. some of the ones sold by sears the only guess based on production ability not a known quantity, how many of these lost broken used for parts how many Saturday night specials bought through the mail from soldier of fortune (I still have a belt… Read more »

Some are likely also multiple sales. My ffl says he can process up to three items on one 4473. My suspicion is that this does but little to offset guns traded in and resold. I certainly see large numbers of used guns for sale in some of my favorite toy stores.
