Charlotte, NC –-(Ammoland.com)- This Tuesday and Wednesday, four firearm-related bills have been scheduled to be heard in their respective state Senate and Assembly committees.
Anti-gun Senate Bill 1315 will be heard in the state Senate Committee on Public Safety. Anti-gun Assembly Bill 2460 and pro-gun Assembly Bill 2615 will be heard in the state Assembly Committee on Public Safety. Anti-gun Assembly Bill 1527 will be heard in the state Assembly Committee on Appropriations.
On Tuesday, the state Senate Public Safety Committee is expected to hear SB 1315, introduced by anti-gun extremist state Senator Kevin DeLeon. This bill will further strip California’s state firearm preemption law to meaningless language by exempting the county of Los Angeles and any city within that county from this critical law. Firearm preemptions laws are enacted to give the state the sole authority to make firearm laws. This necessary law keeps municipalities from passing a patchwork of local firearm laws, which protects law-abiding citizens from becoming criminals because they have crossed from one locality to another.
Senate Bill 1315 would allow the County of Los Angeles and any city within that county, to regulate and ban the sale of any BB “device,” toy gun, a replica of a firearm, or other devices that meet both of the following requirements: the “device” is so substantially similar in coloration and overall appearance to an existing firearm as to lead a reasonable person to perceive that the device is a firearm and expels a projectile that is no more than 16 millimeters in diameter.

Also on Tuesday, the state Assembly Public Safety Committee is expected to hear two firearm-related bills:
Anti-gun bill AB 2460, introduced by state Assembly Member Roger Dickinson (D-9), would ban the private party transfer or sale of handguns that are not on the California Approved Handgun Roster by law enforcement officers.
Pro-gun bill AB 2615, introduced by state Assembly Member Brian Jones (R-77), would specify that “good cause” for the issuance of a concealed carry permit includes personal protection or self-defense.

On Wednesday, the state Assembly Appropriations Committee is expected to hear Assembly Bill 1527, introduced by the anti-gun state Assembly Member Anthony Portantino (D-44), would ban the open carry of long guns in California.
